We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

So very glad we didn’t pass this little gem by. Would have too easy to do that as it’s not real obvious, to us anyway, what’s on back from the entrance. At the far back we discovered a rather large pond segregated off from the rest of the water flow where lived a large school of koi.
Just a really nice Tahitian place!

When we visited as part of a walking tour with Unique Tahiti the annual Vanilla Expo was on at the Assembly and what a delight for the senses. I've never seen such plump pods of vanilla. But I digress this is about the Assembly and its surrounding gardens. There are many interesting events on throughout the year here in the open forecourt that leads into the Assembly

Whilst not a botanical garden as such many of the plants are labelled including an area of herbs which borders a little stream.

Our local guide could not explain why the area is not more popular with locals although he did say he enjoys bringing girlfriend here

This shaded area under large leafy trees this is a wonderful respite from the heat and humidity and is a perfect place to enjoy a fresh baguette or an ice-cream beside the cooling waters.

FYI there are toilets in the Assembly

Wife and I strolled all over the grounds, as far as they’d let us that it, and had a great time soaking it all in.

Not a lot to see in the town so this garden is a little oasis. It is well kept and free to visit. Well worth calling in for 15 minutes.

There's a large fence blocking parts of the gardens, but they are free and well worth seeing when open. If you walk around and behind the assembly building, there's a lovely place to sit and eat a picnic lunch and enjoy the gardens and pools of water.

While walking around Papeete we came across this monument but as there was no English information there we are not sure what it is all about .
Interesting and has it's own attraction in a garden setting .
Directly behind it is an enclosure which I think contained Government buildings and maybe the Govenors house but again no English information so it will remain a mystery to me .
A small sign in English would be very helpful especially seeing how many tourists come here from the cruise ships.

There are many plants and botanical specimens around the Assembly and they are always in bloom resulting in a very pleasant aroma for the senses. While there were mostly tourists in the area, the large trees provide a marvelous shade for comfort and encourage one to relax and enjoy a pastry or ice cream or other libation of your choice.

There wasn't anything going on when we visited but it was a pleasant stop. Relax in the shade in the garden
