The food trucks at the Roulottes offer a great cheaper alternative to eating in your hotel of restaurants. Would recommend the Steak-frites and crepes. Open about 18:00. No alcohol. Huge portion sizes...if you want a crepe for dessert suggest you share a main

We had a late night desert at the Roulettes at Place Varieté - so much fun. The Crepe Suzette was tasty and service was great. Every food stall has their own specialties.

This is about 8 vans which turn up to the seafront and offer a range of cheep eats for locals and tourists. Easy to find and good sized portions for the price. We went for a chow main type thing which was very tasty. Cost...More

Lots of food trucks available near the pier and fairy. Well organized. Surprised to see table set up with numbers on the tables. All kinds of good foods available. Cost range equivalent US dollars of 10 to 15. Most food cooked to order.

Being in Papeete and Tahiti in general does put a strain on your wallet. Eating here is not cheap either but definitely more affordable. Streetfood, trucks that setup in the late afternoon, put chairs and tables outside and the smells start greeting you! Nice variations...More

There's a lot of chinese food options, with fried noodles, etc. I opted for the crepe truck since the wafting food smelled the best from there. They had a combo with a savory and desert crepe + a drink for 10,000 xpf ($10 US). I...More

Thought we would check out the food trucks after a recommendation from a local. Tahiti generally expensive but the food trucks proved to be great value. Food was excellent and the service was well organised. Relaxed atmosphere with plenty of locals enjoying themselves. No alcohol...More

We had dinner and enjoyed it but the food was average. We were expecting better and a wider variety and so were disappointed overall. It maybe because we went on a Monday that there wasn’t the choice.

Sorry no longer in Papeete but if you ring Tourist Information Office in town they are very helpful and would most likely know or be able to find out for you, you could try calling or emailing them :) Happy christmas!

It's quite a way and as the roulettes start at 6pm it would be dark. Maybe 7or 8kms away. Best would be to get a taxi or your resort might have a tour to go. The road and being nighttime would really not be suitable for you... More
