This is a space by the water that is normally empty during the day but is filled with food trucks at night after about 6pm.
We shopped around a bit and settled on getting some grilled Meka (swordfish) and green beans from a corner truck...More
We visited the roulottes on a quiet Tuesday evening . No alcohol is served in the parking area so we had beers across the street at a brew pub. Look for a red neon stripe at the top of the pub.

we ate at the food trucks since it's an attraction. apparently it's a must-do when in papeete. basically all the trucks have the same menu and quality. nothing outstanding, but also not disgusting. just average.

The food trucks at the Roulottes offer a great cheaper alternative to eating in your hotel of restaurants. Would recommend the Steak-frites and crepes. Open about 18:00. No alcohol. Huge portion sizes...if you want a crepe for dessert suggest you share a main

Sorry no longer in Papeete but if you ring Tourist Information Office in town they are very helpful and would most likely know or be able to find out for you, you could try calling or emailing them :) Happy christmas!

It's quite a way and as the roulettes start at 6pm it would be dark. Maybe 7or 8kms away. Best would be to get a taxi or your resort might have a tour to go. The road and being nighttime would really not be suitable for you... More
