An unexpected high entry fee. (I don't recall what it was but I know I argued about it and as it was close to closing time they let us in at no fee). Some good exhibits. Lots of historical (as expected) information. We were time...More

Fiji has a rich history and much to be proud about. The Museum encapsulates a lot of this history but the exhibits need further development. Some is happening but there is scope for a lot more.

Good old fashioned museum with a good collection. If you are into collections without all the bells and whistles this is the Museum for you. Its fascinating. Lovely gardens. Good cafe and a well stocked shop.

This is not the most complete historical museum we have ever visited, but it is worthwhile. Some of the items displayed were (perhaps) provided as generous donations from family, but were not necessarily historical (some guy's desk, for example). Other items were astounding (the bowl...More

We had an afternoon in Suva and chose to visit this museum. It was well worth the time, but not time consuming, you could go through it at your own pace & take as much or little time as you like.

This is not a large Museum and can be viewed easily in a two hours or less. It is a pleasant walk from the city centre. Situated in a tropical park it is well worth a visit. It gives a good insight into the peoples...More

Intersting to learn the past of Fiji, although it is very small, poor equiped and only mainly showing colonial past.

Sadly, the museum is in need of a facelift. Changes have been made to the building to make it a very dark and dingy place. The information and exhibits are excellent but the presentation needs revival. The descriptions are hard to read . Having lived...More

Yes you can. I took some myself.
Hello. My daughter would like to find out more about Fijian art (particularly tapa-based) but we are only in Suva for one day (Monday 2 January) as we will be on a cruise. I wanted to make sure the museum is open and was wondering if there is a guide who could give her some information about your displays? Thank you.
