We were only on Fiji for two days and we booked with Diveaway, based on all the positive reviews we saw, even though it was about 30 minutes from our resort in Sigatoka and required separate transport. We were very glad we did. Ash made booking a breeze, and when we arrived at the resort, we were quickly set up with our gear and took a very short drive to the dive boat. Moji was an outstanding dive guide, he ended up diving with only the two of us, and both dive sites were fantastic. We saw tons of sea life and healthy reefs, and felt very safe and relaxed the whole time. We spent our surface interval on the beach with some snacks. Overall, it was a very relaxing, beautiful and enjoyable experience, and we would make it a point to dive with this shop again if we were back in Fiji.

Awesome team and terrific experience. Highlights: exceptional communication and care for the customer, new equipment, experienced divers, and a tailored experience. I highly recommend and hope you will also dive with Diveaway Fiji for your own enjoyment and to support this local company as they (like so many) recover from COVID shutdown.
My husband and I are intermediate divers, staying in Maui Bay. Just 10min down the road, the Diveaway team picked us up at the front door and took us to the shop to grab all our dive gear (all new and in great shape). We dove Kagaroo Wall, The Edge and Fanny Hill with Mojee. Mojee was so much fun, getting as excited as us when finding Eagle Rays, Turtles, schools of barracuda and Reef Sharks (silver and black tipped), Lionfish and Ghost Coral amongst all the other beautiful fish and coral.
Ash, the shop’s owner, stayed in touch with us through our two week stay, letting us know when visibility was best and suggesting we avoid some days when visibility was poor. I really appreciated that honesty.
We felt safe, cared for, and very happy with Ash and his whole team.
Thank you to everyone at Diveaway!!

This is a fantastic introduction to scuba diving. I had never done this before. Went for a pool intro the day before at the outrigger resort with Ash. Then went for a real dive of about 35 minutes duration. To be honest I got the scare of my life at 10 meters depth hadn’t it been for Ash’s professionalism and calmness I would have probably resurfaced immediately. Yet he got me through and learned me how to breath and calm down after which I had the most amazing experience ever. Seen turtles and sharks and beautiful coral and all sorts of small fish.
Thanks to this team I am now convinced I will further get my self together and learn how to scuba dive.
This team is great.
Just sad to see all the plastic along the most beautiful beaches.

Bula and thank you giving diveaway Fiji such a good review. we are pleased you had an awesome time here. looking after beginners on a discover scuba diving is very critical part for us professionals because its the guests first time diving experience, we encourage everyone to enroll in the Padi open water course after a discover scuba diving experience in their future because there is alot to explore beneath the surface. turtles and sharks are often seen on our sites with loads of marine life. everyday something will wash ashore and we also take part cleaning our beach.. hope you get certified in future all the best.

Super! I can’t say enough about how fantastic my experience was with the team at Diveaway. I was so keen to have my second dive experience at Fiji. Ash was really helpful getting me organised as I only rang while I was there. It is worth noting that Diveaway do pick ups from Hotels even if the Hotel isn’t that helpful - luckily I’d already done my homework on that one!
Going at the beginning of post Covid holidaying meant that myself and the two other groups had our own personal instructors.
Apo was my personal guide and I really enjoyed our dive because he always kept an eye on me but also allowed me time to enjoy the sights along the reef wall.

Dive Away Fiji is the best!!! Especially if you are nervous about scuba diving like me! I wanted to dive, but was actually terrified of doing it because I had a bad first experience in Australia a few years ago where I panicked in the first 3 minutes of my first dive. I wasn't sure Id even manage to do it again but Apo from Dive Away got me restarted in a 30 minute pool training at my hotel. This gave me the courage to try a real five dive again, but I was super nervous. I told Ash, the owner, about my past failure/panic attack in Australia and he was just wonderful. Ash took me and my partner (who is annoying calm about being 20 meters below the surface even though he doesn't have gills) on a small reef dive for 40 minutes. With the calm of a consummate pro who has done over 5000 dives, Ash got me through my feelings of panic when they returned moments before descending. He took me down slowly, at my pace, never rushing me, always making sure I was ok and feeling calm and in control. Ash literally held my hand the entire way, checked my oxygen, taught me to breathe better, reminded me to equalise, and made me feel wonderfully and completely safe. Thanks to him, I got to swim along the reef with amazing tropical fish, reef sharks and sea turtles. Thank you Ash, Apo and Dive Fiji!! I could not recommend you more highly. You guys looked after me with so much care. I never could have beaten my fear of being down there without you.

Unbelievably expert in all ways - we are uncertified divers and Diveaway was the only outfit that had the ability to take us out on a 12 meter Discover Scuba Dive. The director Ashwin Pal was fantastic - extremely responsive to all my emails and WhatsApp messages which is critical when you’re working with guests on vacation. Our resort weirdly and accidentally canceled our Diveaway reservation without my permission at 6 am the morning of my scuba trip without notifying me. I contacted Ashwin in a panic and he reassembled his team and we were still able to go. He was also super patient while I fumbled with my credit card problems as Chase thought I was some hacker trying to use WorldRemit to pay for my scuba. The instructor assigned to my youngest who is 7 expertly and safely guided my son in snorkeling in the bay even though the waters were a bit choppy. Our diving guide Apo was incredibly patient and very very safe while leading us to depths that I haven’t been before. Am so happy that Diveaway rescued my scuba trip, and was super professional and patient with all the snafus! Would definitely go with them again!

I spent 3 days diving with the team at Diveaway Fiji and had a very positive experience.. The guys who collected me from my resort each day were punctual and friendly. The dive centre has just invested in brand new, quality equipment. The team have extensive local knowledge of the best dive sites and provide safe guided tours with small dive groups. If I’m ever back here again I will definitely dive with Diveaway Fiji! Thank you for making it such a positive experience 🦀🐢🦈🐠🐡🦑🐚

It has been a long time since I scuba dived, and I could not pass it up in Fiji. I am very happy and pleased about the 2 dive day I experienced. The staff is very happy, friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Since I did not have a buddy, a staff diver, Su Steven (sorry about the spelling), was assigned to me. He was excellent. Very knowledgeable about scuba (expected). He gave me space to enjoy my own dive experience while simultaneously always being there to point out tiny animals like a nudibranch up to large things like turtles and small reef sharks!

Diveaway Fiji, a true five-star PADI dive centre, provides an extraordinary dive experience. Ash was very helpful and kind in matching me up with another Asian lady who was on the same level as me as a dive buddy.
I wasn't able to finish the online elearning before scheduled confined water dive, and had to extend my stay in Fiji for two days to finish the whole course. We were so lucky that the weather was perfect for diving, and the visibility of the water was crystal clear, 25m plus. Apo was excellent instructor and kept us under his wing and showed us the little timid Christmas tree on the coral reef, he snapped his finger, and the little Christmas tree hid away from us. we were so impressive. It was so worthwhile to extend my stay and get OW certificate as I knew I won't have this sort of experience anywhere else.

I saw an article about shark diving with Beqa Adventure Divers and doesn't require any PADI certificate.
But they said Open Water Level certificate is required, which takes 4 days!! Please advise if your company allows shark diving without PADI certificates. And the charges. I only have a certificate in Discover scuba diving. Many thanks.

Bula , we do have a "shark dive" however our dive is a natural dive and you will need a minimum cert of open water. We DO NOT feed or chum the sharks and is a full tank dive taking in the natural habitat and life of the reef and marine life. Also guaranteeing sharks in thier natural environment. We encourage you to try and keep count...

Hi there
Just wondering how you got in touch with Diveaway Fiji?
I have been emailing and calling them for weeks with no response... I arrive on the coral coast in a couple of weeks and really want to go scuba diving for my birthday - haven't been able to reach anyone via email or telephone...
Any help would be really appreciated!
Cheers

Hi,
Iam coming over with my husband in January. We are both Padi advanced. Just wondering if you did private dives. Can we bring our own regulators, fins, masks??
Vinaka!
Written 26 June 2017
Not sure what you mean by private dives - do you mean diving on your own from the shore or similar? Have not seen or heard of anyone doing that. The lagoon area at the resort is not suitable for scuba diving, and I believe other waters are controlled by the nearby village as customary landowners, so some form of consent should be arranged.
If you dive with Diveaway Fiji, situated at the resort and visiting many nearby dive sites, you are welcome to bring as much of your own gear as yo want. Their divemasters abd instructors know all the good places to dive.

Hi wanting to know how much it will be to dive if not certified to diver, and also how much to be certifired and dive? how long does it take and how long is the day?

Hi, I just want to know about the price of each person. We have two people and we live near Sigatoka. Will it cost a lot to pick us up from accommodation?
Thank you!

Bula from Sunny Fiji, please do contact us directly on 931 6883 to chat about whereabouts exactly you are staying as we usually only provide transfers to/from Hideaway Resort to the Sunset Strip (near Outrigger Resort).
The cost of a 2 tank dive is $250 FJD per person (Geoff where did you get the $170 from ?)
Please do let us know if we can be of further assistance. Vinaka and kind regards

Hi, I understand that this is a bit of an unusual question but I'm interested in how much time is involved sitting on a boat when doing the open water diving course? The reason I ask is that my 3 teenage children are all very prone to seasickness - so not probably the most likely candidates to do a dive course - most people are luckier on that front. But they would love to do it if it mainly involved being in the water rather than on the water. We have never been tempted in Australia to do one because the time taken to get to the dive sites would be too much for them - was wondering though what the situation is at Diveaway Fiji? (I would probably do the course with them even though I was certified many years ago)

Bula ipilly 12, as mentioned above all our dive sites are within 5 minutes from shore and for the Open Water course the first ocean dive will be a beach entry as well. Please do contact us directly via our website diveawayfiji so we can liaise further. Vinaka and kind regards

Hi we're staying in MangoBay for 5days and Sheraton for 2 days. How far it is from there? And how much is the activity? And what activities do you recommend??
Thanks
Written 25 August 2015
Bula from Sunny Fiji, we are located at the Fiji Hideaway Resort and Spa which is approx 30 minutes drive from Mango Bay Resort. Please visit Mango Bay Resort website as they have a dive operator contracted to their resort and they have many varied activities listed on their website as well for your perusal. The Sheraton Resort is at Denarau which is approx 1.5 hours from us here on the Coral Coast but close to Nadi International Airport. The cost of a 2 tank dive is $250 FJD per person for certified divers.
Vinaka and kind regards
