Go to the far end Towards Wyndham its better that side and closer to the river mouth its a nice place for picnics. worst place to swim due to it being a former mangrove swmap. great for jogs and the best sunsets in fiji can offer from here.

Denarau Beach is not your typical beach. It is however, lovely in its own way. The water is not as blue as it is in many parts of Fiji but it is fine for water sports and in parts OK for swimming. Walking from the Westin to the Sheraton along the waters edge is lovely especially at sunset or early... More

I am told Denarau Island is reclaimed and so many parts of the beach have large stones (rip rap) to protect for erosion. There are spots where the sand runs into the ocean so you can have the traditional beach experience. The beaches have a long pathway that interconnects the many resorts on Denarau Island so you can easily go... More

Poor beach lined by a collection of big luxury hotels. I wouldn't know why anyone should stay here unless you like a holiday in a totally exchangeable Sheraton, Hilton, Radisson, Westin or whatever. Well, don't get me wrong, I do like luxurious resorts. But the location must be right. Denarau is not my type of place.

When you think of Fiji you think of white sands, palms and clear water. That is NOT Denerau beach. Denerau is a reclaimed swamp area with dirty brown sands, murky brown water. While we were staying there we saw aboslutely no body swimming in the sea or on the beaches - they just arent nice. Go to coral coast or... More

Horrible artificial black beach on a muddy area at the beginning of the port. Why someone should go there when they can choose between of hundreds of amazing places? Our travel agent sent us there for the last night as it was close to the airport and we had a early morning flight, but absolutely we will never go back.

Shame that there is such a lot of development around this area of Fiji and yet it is so poorly kept.
