We didn’t know of Gurvich until we happened upon this beautiful modern museum. Excellent collection. Well worth the trip.

Gurvich was one of Uruguay's best known artists. This museum in a converted space over 5 levels shows the history of his works. It has sculpture, paintings, sketches, etc and all in a delightfully restored and modern space. Well worth a visit

Gurvich modeled some of his work from Torres Garcia and the similarities are easy to spot, but, there is much more to the work of Gurvich. The tapestry work is amazing and his Jewish paintings are wonderful. The museum is 5 floors and costs 100...More
