Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I took a tour of Montevideo, it was conducted very professionally. The group was diverse and the information had to be shared in 3 languages, and this was done very smoothly. The information was detailed, not only about the Montevideo, but about the Uruguay context în general. I recommend to start the trip to Montevideo/Uruguay with this tour.

I wasn’t at all sure of what to expect of this and I only booked the day before.
I hadn’t realise that colonia was quite so far away as it is, but the transport was probably the best coach I have ever been on. When it arrived at my stop, it was nearly full and everyone was asleep !
There was a stop along the way, then a bit of a drive around the colonia area, then 3 - 4 hours in colonia, that was just the right amount of time to see it all and eat and not rush.
The guide was really good, I think I was the only non Spanish/Portuguese speaker but he made me feel very included.
Highly recommended

We were very disappointed because on our document sent by Inver it saiid pick up time between 7-8 with departure of MV at 8. We were picked up between 8:30 and 9. Then Inver went picking up others all over MV. Needless to say, we lost time in Punta. Two stops- more wasted time. Maybe off to take photos only would work. We saw nothingin Punta. No getting off for photo or a souvenir. Waste of money. Also, we requested English guide. We were with mainly Brazilians and one Spanish speaker so Portuguese speakers were priority. I speak all 3; my husband only English. By the time Cynthia got to the English, she left out a lot. Do not recommend.

Our hotel recommended this tour and advised us against taking a simple local bus to Casa Pueblo which is where we really wanted to go. Although the guide was knowledgeable and tried her best we did not enjoy this trip. Piriápolis beach would be lovely for a walk and there are some gorgeous old buildings at the seafront that would look great in photos. But we didn’t stop there. Instead we stopped at a lookout - which had great views, however I felt sad about missing Piriápolis. At Casa Pueblo we paid for entry to the gallery but only had 50 mins in total at this amazing place so it was all quite rushed and we would have preferred to spend at couple of hours there. Then at Punta del Este we drove around and around and around streets, backstreets, roundabouts while the guide talked incessantly about which rich person owned which house and where in Europe their furniture came from, and how much various properties cost to buy, and in which years all the apartment buildings were constructed and how much it would cost to buy them and which houses have pools, BBQ areas, cinemas, 17 bedrooms and 11 toilets. It was endless even after my child threw up in the bus the commentary continued. Then we had 3 hours at ‘Punta’ and really didn’t know what to do with ourselves because it was so commercial and we were so stressed from the tour. I wish we had taken a simple bus to Piriápolis or Casa Pueblo and had a more relaxing last day in Uruguay.

The tour bus was a very noisey, cramped 27 seater bus. The commentary was hard to follow. Being in three languages we often heard ‘that was such and such that we passed...’. I would not recommend this tour although the guide tried hard.
The guided walking tour of Colonia lasted only 20 minutes then we were left to explore for three hours. As the commentary on the exhibits in the museums was only in Spanish the benefit was limited.
We had been ‘oversold’ on Colonia by friends and didn’t consider it worth 5 hours in a bus to visit and certainly not to spend a night there. Having said that it is a pretty place with a wide choice of eateries and provides some good photographic opportunities.
And the bus driver was very professional

Charming little town with beautiful landscapes and colonial architecture
We have a great time in the tour, everything went according the schedule
Our tour guide: Marcela, was fantastic!! She so acknowledged on history plus she speaks fluently 3 languages: Spanish, Portuguese $ English
The driver took very good care of us.
Be aware to wear comfortable shoes, hat and light clothes if you are visiting at the end of the spring or beginning of summer, is hot & humid!
The town has lots of options where to eat, all prices ranges
Marcela spoiled us so much that she even gave to each one of us “dulces de leche” plus she gave to us the best tips of what to do in Montevideo

Took a day tour from Montevideo to Punta del Este in April 2018. The tour was a good way to see the beach and the guide, Yvette, was great. I was the only English speaker on the tour and she made sure to translate all the information for me. The driver was also good too.
The tour stopped in Piriapolis and then continued to Casapueblo where we had time to tour the museum. We had free time to explore Punta del Este independently. The time allotted was sufficient and I never felt rushed.

Pizzorno Winery is exceptional. Very customer service oriented. They also include a great educational experience. The food and wines were fantastic. The people really go out of their way to make sure everything is great.
The only part of the tour that was disappointing was the driver. He was a bad driver and didn't have the route figured out in advance; we passed our own hotel three times, AFTER we were picked up! However, he doesn't work for Pizzorno, and the people at the winery dealt with it in an extraordinary way. Even offering us a different van back! I couldn't take a star away from them for that.
Thank-you Pizzorno
