You can get all yours drinks and snacks before getting a long bus elsewhere. The location is dead central close to other malls, attractions and eateries.

Arrived in Montevideo by bus from Colonia. Then took urban bus into Ciudad Vieja. The bus station is on the ground floor but upstairs there is a big shopping centre with many shops and places to eat that you could spend the whole day here!

The Tres Curces is a nice area (though very bus as there is a major bus station nearby). Some spectacular buildings can be seen such as the famous Hospital Italiano de Montevideo. One can also see a giant cross monument. From Tres Cruces, if you...More

On first encountering the Tres Cruces station, I was smitten. This station rivals the great train stations of Tokyo as far as organization, services, and products available, just on a smaller scale. Of course this is where any bus to anywhere in Uruguay can be...More

You can get bus tickets here to go pretty much anywhere in Uruguay, and tickets are reasonably priced ($12 USD from Montevideo to Colonia, for example, or $8 from Montevideo to Minas). The terminal is pretty massive, and there's an upstairs level that's a mall....More

Staying just across from Tres Cruces I found this shopping centre very convenient. Buses to all over Uruguay leave from here and you're spoilt for choice of bus companies. Outside on the other side of the shopping centre you also have heaps of buses that...More

To me a shopping mall is a "non place" as they're all the same. But if you're looking for a mall this is convenient with all the main shops, supermarket, food court and bus terminal.

This is the main bus terminal in Montevideo. It's pretty busy and crowded, but reasonably clean, safe and organized. A good place to buy some last moment souvenirs.

To be honest we did not have luggage when we took urban bus but many locals had all their shopping bags, and plenty of them, so I do not think a cabin size suitcase would be any problem! Have a good trip!
