Small little plaza. Interesting statue. Ideally located to a lot of other points of interest such as old buildings, restaurants and places for a drink.

This monument honors the great hero Bruno Mauricio de Zabala who prevented Portuguese invasion and takeover of the Montevideo area as well as other parts of the region. The statue was then erected to in the 1800s in this beautiful neighbourhood of the nation's capital.

This is a lovely spot to stop at and take a walk around. Surrounded by beautiful buildings. Front and centre is the equestrian statue of Bruno Mauricio de Zabala, founder of the city. This is where we saw large nests for the green parrots.

We arranged a bike tour while in Montevideo through our cruise ship and this was one of the stops. Quaint with trees and large statue of Montevideo's founder Bruno Zabala on horseback.

The plaza is pleasing to relax in and people watch under the statue of General Zabala. Vendors set up and sell various wares. Great restaurants are nearby
