Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The show was amazing. Great performers. The dinner was lackluster. It was frozen food re-heated. I would go for the show, stay away from the dinner portion.

Let me start with salad: tasteless, chicken on the bottom and shredded cubbage on top, with one slice tomato on the side. For main course we ordered one steak well done which came out too dry, chewy, and impossible to eat. One ravioli which was decent. Desert was ok, you can't mess up ice cream and a peace of bread soaked in syrup with Dulce de Leche on the side.
The show: the opening was good, it looked promising, but then Tango came and my opinion changed. The only saviour was Candombe, the singer and dancers were great. I wish entire show was like the end.

It was a great show. A combination of Tango, Candombe, Folklore, Dance and Music.

The dinner wasn't good enough. Very comfortable theater. Centrally located in Montevideo.

The show was enjoyed by my teenager. I thought it was quite good but had to twist either my neck or whole body to see the performers as I was seated at a dinner table with my back to the action. It was good to hear and see candombe, tango and folk in the same show with a live band. I don’t regret going to the show. Also the wine was very nice. There was an open bar (though the waiters were sometimes slow to refill). The dinner was ridiculous. Highly overpriced. The steak was very hard to cut and even harder to chew. Most people who had steak couldn’t finish it. The chicken was served with potato noisettes that looked like they came from a freezer packet. I’d recommend eating elsewhere.

I booked to come here with my wife and we sat at a large table of 8 and met the other couples. We had a 3 course meal and a bottle of wine each included in the package. The prices were reasonable and the food was delicious. The show was a taste of different styles of traditions music culture and styles as well as an entertaining tango show. We had s great evening.

The show was wonderful, all types of dance, (candombe, tango, milo nag and the folk dances). Singing, bongos and dancing made for a very entertaining show. Book directly through the venue, we booked through a tour company and paid dearly for what ended up being a taxi ride (a late one at that).

We went to see this show in Montevideo. It was first class. The dancers and entertainers were very professional and we had a most enjoyable evening. It was also very good value at US$30 per head - including a large complementary glass of excellent wine. We did not use an agent but paid the venue directly. The snacks and drinks were also reasonably priced. The show opened with a troupe of traditional folk dancers, followed by two seasoned singers/entertainers and the Tango section, and finished with a Carnival grand finale. All in all the show lasted for 2 hours and we highly recommend you make an evening of it.

We went with high expectations but left disappointed. The show itself was okay, with the singers and musicians excellent and dancers average. The table service and initial welcome was great too. However, don't bother with the food which is very overpriced. My wife, who is vegetarian, was given a mountain of white rice with half a red pepper and onion as her main dish, with no herbs, no sauce, no dressing of any description. In short, a completely tasteless monstrosity. At the end I asked for a small discount on the price of her 'meal' but we were refused. I really hope someone from the event reads this and takes note, so as not to disappoint future guests. My message to them would be not to be complacent and to work on improving the food on offer. Eventually you will get found out, which would be a shame since the performance itself has potential.

This is a dinner theater with Tango Shows, Candombe and Local Folk dances. Interspersed are two good singers accompanied by a live orchestra. The theater is located to the north of the old town, and you can purchase a tour ticket from your hotel reception. The tickets comes with an open bar servicing wine and soft drinks. Patrons sit on dining tables around a stage. The food is served by wait staff who do an amazing job. Dinner is usually a three course meal. The are many Tango shows and some in tandem. A local type of dance, the Candombe, is performed. It is like a mini carnival and has a lot of African influence to it. Seeing the two shows, one can discern the African influence on Tango. Nice way to spend an evening and getting introduced to Tango, which is a pretty sensual and exciting dance.

We did the dinner show which was booked through our hotel, transportation included. Dinner & Drinks were good. I had the chicken which was delicious, the gnocchi were also delicious as was the steak. Appetizer was cream of asparagus soup which all at our table said was very good. My hubby & I had the chicken pate....which was different for us, it okay. The show was very good. The Singers & Dancers were terrific & we really enjoyed the evening. Negative was at a back table there were 2 children who were permitted by their parents to run around the center of the floor where all others are sitting.....unacceptable
