This place is one of the oldest city of inca that still alive now. You can visit the old inks houses on how people live before go to visit the archaeological side. The side has 259 zeros all the way up. But it is worth it to see how the inca is advance in building their temple and how to... More

A must visit if you are in Ollantaytambo, a lovely place to take a casual stroll and explore. Our family took a 6-day trip to explore Sacred Valley. Besides Machu Picchu, this was the only ruin among several others we visited and it didn't disappoint. The park was such an asset, lying so picturesquely as a backdrop of Ollantaytambo town.... This is an easy or very hard climb of Inca remains. We did the easy part with our guide. It was wonderful to understand and see what these people did at the time (1500's). Enjoyed our one hour tour. Could have spent a half day here if your willing to climb.

Fantastic example of Incan ruins situated right on the edge of town, 5 minutes from town square. A must if staying in Ollantaytambo.

Everyone knows Machu Picchu but this site is nearly as big and less crowded. This is a close trip from Cuzco. Many steps to climb with a good view of town. Underrated

We visited Ollantaytambo Archaeological Park in the morning of our trip to Machu Pichu and it proved to be a wonderful introduction to the wonders of the Inca and his people. This site is within a few minutes drive from the Casa Andina Private Collection Valle Sagrado hotel where we had stayed the previous night. Being the rainy season, there... More

Our guide had said he would take us to see some Inca Terraces when we first saw them on our way from Cusco but when we got to walk up them and se the craftsmanship of the Inca stonemasons it war unbelievable. A magnificent sit and a nut if your going to Machu Picchu.

Explored this site before heading to Machu Picchu, and it was fantastic. Not a problem with a 4-year-old, and not too hard on acclimatizing adults either. A couple of slightly scary spots if you're weird with heights, but pretty tame generally.

The stairs are a bear to climb if you're of a certain age, but the views of town below and the incredible workmanship of the stonemasons are totally worth it. The temple and granary ruins are still very well preserved, and the terraces are unique in their craftsmanship. A must-see if you're in Ollanta.

This site is a good primer if you are headed to Machu Picchu. It's a beautiful and mind opening archeological hike.
