This is a rock gateway within the Machu Picchu site. As with the whole site this is interesting and well preserved.

Well worth the hike up from Machu Picchu. It took around 1-2 hours to get there but the views and the photos we took were incredible.

Walking along a short trail after the entrance and there it was! No words to describe it. There is a bench under a thatched area and on our second visit after lunch it started to drizzle. We sat on the bench and watched everyone leave...More

Getting on the train from Ollantaytambo to Macchu Picchu, we step in a wonderful world. We ate and drink on our comfortable seats while the gentle staff serves us. After getting off the train at the bottom of the mountain we start the bus journey...More

I did the four day 3 night trek. It was breathtakingly spectacular every step of the way. It was gruelling and exhausting and definitely not easy, but it was worth every moment. The final trek into Machu Picchu is something I will never forget. Not...More

Hello folks, couple of questions about the sun gate hike. My partner and i are both in our late fourties in good health and we do not own a car so we do a lot of walking but we are certainly NOT experienced mountain hikers. Given our lack of hiking experience, and after doing some research, we are opting to do the sun gate trek because we are led to believe that this is the easiest. here are the questions… 1. Is the easiest trek? 2. Are they any better/easier treks than the sun gate? 3. Do you is need a guide for this hike? Thanks in advance
