Some bus tours visit the cross in daylight. It is on a rather bleak headland in Lima's far south. The view is spectacular. The cross is nothing more than an electricity pylon. It was installed for a visit by Pope John Paul II. Other important monuments on the hill include a memorial to an unknown soldier. This was the site... More

We arrived close to midnight and very tired. I knew nothing about the lighted cross. It was so moving and absolutely breathtaking to see this amazing large cross glowing across the water, high on hill on a very clear night. It was very moving.

As others have mentioned, there is nothing to visit in particular. But where we are staying in Miraflores, this is the key feature to the coastal skyline every night. It's visible from anywhere you are in the area. You can see it in the daytime but at night it is really spectacular.

You can see the cross from the boardwalk along Miraflores. When the sun goes down, it is a stunning view from the distance. A beautiful cultural tidbit from a Christian country.

This is just a nice lighted cross. Just another little decoration to the lighted city of Miraflores and Barronco. Nothing really to see or do. Just take a nice picture

We could see the lighted cross from anywhere in Miraflores or Barranco, it's a nice touch. Up close though, it's just that - a big lighted cross. Nothing to really go visit, but nice to have it there. It's set on a cliff in Chorrillos overlooking the sea.
