Located only 31 kilometers from Lima, these ancient ruins are all that remain of an important religious center that was constructed more than 1,000 years before the Inca Empire.

If you are staying in Lima for a day or two then I strongly recommend that you take the 45min to 1 hour trip south to see the Pachacamac ruins and museum - actually in Lurin. You can get a taxi from Lima or use...More

Pachacamac is a vaste pre-Inca/Inca site 30 km or so south of central Lima. It is well worth visiting in order to get an idea of what the old costal temple sites in Peru were like. If you don't have transport on the site, give...More

We had lunch at the Resturant overlooking this site and it was fantastic. I think it would be stunning at night when lit up.

Not much to see. Dusty dirty. Most of the ruins are that, ruins due to construction with mud brick vs stone of other fantastic places like Machu Picchu. We did the day trip which included the Paso horses which I would totally not recommend either. Tour...More

This is a wonderful spot to see the history of the Lima area. The views from atop the hill, of the ocean, are stunning. We had a guide from Limavision who was very knowledgeable. Super cool place.

This is an important Inca ruin. I recommend going with a good guide to get the most out of the place. The Incas were amazing road builders. A road connected Cusco to Pachacamac near modern day Lima.

Are there any tour guides to hire on site? We're short on time so we're thinking of taking a taxi from Miraflores to Pachacamac.

I would recommend hiring a tour guide who can provide transportation and a narrative so you know what you're seeing. It's not expensive and definitely worth it.
