Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

THR BEST place in Lima to look for authentic Peruvian craft art. The owner is very much an eclectic character who can be a bit much for some. She knows what she's talking about and has some of the most unique pieces to view and purchase. Any visit to Lima should include a stop here and I challenge you to try and
leave without taking home a beautiful treasure to remind you of your time in Peru.

As others have said meeting the owner, Marie, and having her take her through her store is fascinating. She is a treasure trove of knowledge and gives a fantastic insight into Peruvian craft. Prices are reasonable, and certainly a place to browse if nothing else. If she offers to show you her private collection do say yes - her sitting room is amazing.

Even sans Marie the store has a big collection of authentic handicrafts from across the country.

I love this store - I've been here many times over the years and have always been delighted with the quality and variety of items available. The craftmanship is top notch, and it's nice to know that the owner is careful to support the artisans. Much of the handicraft market in Lima is actually mass-produced, and supporting true artists is so important -- and beautiful! A pair of my favorite earrings came from Las Pallas.

So many great things to look at and buy, like pottery, artifacts, carvings, paintings etc etc etc. But the true delight is talking with the owner, she is no nonsense, very honest, educated, friendly, knowledgeable, a great conversationalist, and quite the character. If you're interested in local art or just meeting a local treasure, this is a must.

A wonderful experience!
The owner is full of passion and knowledge about the art in her shop. It feels homely and not commercial at all.

The items for sale are quality indigenous works that are just so coo. It felt like a family visit. Mari, the owner of the studio is a wealth of knowledge regarding the items. She was able to tell us the history of the items, how they have evolved over generations and how she came to acquire them. She even let us browser her personal collection of items. So worth visiting and make sure you've got a couple of hours to spend there. You'll come away with some wonderful stories and arts and crafts!
