I just finished a four night tour on the Aqua Nera. To say that the boat, crew, food and tours exceeded my expectations is and understatement. I have never experienced the level of service I had on this boat. It was Four Seasons on the water maybe even better?

I went with the Delfin Amazon Cruise line... (ship: Delfin 3)
I have been to different luxury experiences and hotels and i have never been treated with GENUINE kindness and hapiness. The crew of delfin amazon cruises is absolutely incredible and have everthing it takes to make your trip marvellous (experience, information, medical emergy kits, knowledge of the amazon, etc). If you have any doubt of getting their service make this comment the last u need. Go for it and enjoy the beutiful amazon region in Peru and get to know the UNIQUE pink river dolphins, lots of birds, fish and wildlife. Make a diet before you go, because the food served is the best i have had in a lot of time, well presented and they even tell you what unique ingredients they are giving you. The boat is equipped with AC and every ammenity you could think of.
Have a great trip! 10/10 would repeat.

I had the great pleasure of cruising for 7 nights on the Aqua Nera. The pictures and video do not do this beauty of a ship justice. Gorgeous and I can't think of a better home base from which to explore the Amazon. From the moment they grabbed my luggage to the time we were back in Iquitos, the crew was on top of it and always there to help with whatever you may need. The ship and her crew exceeded every expectation. I am already looking in to another of the Aqua Expedition voyages.

My mom and I took a 7 night cruise aboard the brand new Aqua Nera. We had a fabulous experience. The guides, Alex and Billy, were so knowledgable and loved to see all the wildlife as much as we did. The crew on board was incredibly attentive and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed and more! They truly thought of everything - including the bartender mixing us drinks in the middle of a skiff ride and goggles to keep the bugs out of our eyes during night excursions. We'd definitely travel with Aqua Expeditions again!

We spend several nights aboard the Iberostar Heritage Grand Amazon. It was a beautiful ship with comfortable spacious rooms, incredible dining room, and Caipirinha on the top deck while staying cool in the pool while soaking up the Brazilian rays can't be beat. Every day and night we took to the water and were led by our expert guides. We fished for piranhas. Watched colorful parrots fly, and even spent some time in a couple small river villages. It was an amazing trip!

Where is the wildlife? If you want a strictly tourist venue.... go here. NO reprieve from the absolutely drenching humidity or tse tse flies. Guides are over worked and tired which leads to unenthusiasm. Stay away... extremely disappointed.

Staff was amazing, they took care of every detail .Jorge the cruise manager does an exceptional job making sure your experience is perfect . Guides are extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic to share their expertise with you . They make the Amazon experience unforgettable . Bar staff are fun and experienced. Food was amazing - we have been on many cruises with different luxury lines and the food prepared on the Delfin III was the best by far . Tip - book the Owners Suite, the views from the cabin are memorable .
This is a luxury curated experience but the best way to really feel the culture of the Amazon.

We did a 4 day cruise on the Amazon River in La Perla. The accommodations were great, the crew amazing and the food outstanding and plentiful. The naturalists, Daniel and Robinson, did an excellent job as did the cruise director Tania, the bar tender Charles and Milton, the head in the dining room. They were all knowledgeable and very attentive.

I have been already a week back and I am trying to find a word to describe the experience. The word is Wondrous. This was an incredible week of great food, entertainment and amazing scenery. We decided to venture for the first time during the high water season. As I wanted the ability to go deeper in the tributaries, but I feel there are better chance to encounter more wildlife in the low water season.
I want to split my review in 3 parts. 1) The boat, 2) The food and 3) The tours and wildlife.
Boat. I went before on a Nile cruise in what was supposed to be a boutique cruise and it was pretty disappointing. When I arrived in ArianI could not believe my eyes. The bait is gorgeous, clean, smell fantastic. When shown my room, the size, amenities and comfort were beyond words. It is fantastic. The bars area is super relaxing and so are the outside areas.
Food
Get ready to gain weight but not like a Caribbean cruise. This is fine sinning at the highest level of preparation. The food is amazing and prepared exquisitely with local ingredients. The Aria group let’s you taste all the local gifts of the area elevated at a fine dining level. It was just amazing.
Tours
Every day you will go by skiff and they will. Take you to amazing areas. The jingles are not for everyone mosquitoes, insect and tarantulas. But you will be exposed to areas that very few will ever experience. Wildlife. Howler monkeys, spider monkeys, tamarin, marmoset, capuchins, pink dolphin , gray dolphins and tons of sloths. We never saw the wild manatee, jaguar ir capibara but they are most likely in the low water.
This boat is expensive but it was worth it. I love the experience and it was imply amazing. As far as the insect they don’t bother me but we went easy. We used head mesh and it was not that bad. Highly recommend them.

The Amazon river was an amazing trip. I did not know what to expect but it far exceeded my expectations. The excursions that were planned for us were so enjoyable and the guides added such a personal touch. They were all very knowledgeable and entertaining. I will definitely recommend Aqua Expeditions to my friends.

Hi. What company did you go with? And since you did the Nile and know how crowded with boats it is, was the Amazon like that…a million boats everywhere?

Is there a difference in what you see, if your cruise is on another part of the Amazon?
Amazon cruises can start from several different countries and I was wondering if there is a difference in what you experience and the wild life that you see. Also what is the difference in experience if you cruise the amazon or you stay in a Lodge and take day trips. thank you

Since I didn't see the Amazon the other ways described, I can't give you an exact answer. But the seasons and rain can effect what you see, Also, the amount of development. It's true that some wildlife have their favorite habitats and there is some unspoiled beauty throughout. I guess you might want to ask if an area has been overfished or not

We booked the 3-night Aria Amazon cruise. We are being offered the 7-night for the same price (different dates). If we accept the 7-night, we have to replan our entire Peru trip. Now that you've done the 7-night, what cruise would you choose if you had to do it again: 3-night, 4-night or 7-night? Thanks.

do the 7 days. You will go much further into the jungle - 3 days really only just takes you out of sight of Nauta - it's great but really just a taste. The food on our boat, the Spondias, was spectacular, the guiding world-class and the cabins embarrassingly comfortable.

Does anyone know if La Selva Air Conditioned?
Written 5 July 2018
NO, it is not, but it has ceiling fans which makes it tolerable. We went in October when it is fairly warm and of course humid, but after a night of sleeping it wasn't so bad. I would go to bed without any covers and wake up to find I had pulled the covers up during the night, so it actually got cool. It is the Amazon, it's hot. We took showers and it made it pleasant. None of the facilities within miles have A/C as they don't have regular electricity and the generators can't produce that kind of power. LA SELVA is worth not having A/C as it is a fantastic place with great people.

Has anyone traveled with Tour the Tropics or Voyagers Amazon River Cruises. We are looking at both and can't find reviews on either of them?

No, just Aqua tours. I suggest whatever company you use include on board security for your peace of mind.

Hi! Do anyone know how far in advance i need to book for a boat tour in the Amazonas area? Going there in march 2019. I am used to backpacking and take everything as it comes . Tried really hard to find these information but with no luck...
Thanks !

We booked 8months in advance with Aqua tours. They were amazing. Daily trips in small skiffs up the tributaries and into villages . 18 first class cabins on board. Pricy but the trip of a lifetime. (I understand Igguzi Falls is also terrific but very crowded.)
