I did the 5 day Salkantay trek with Golden Treks and it was a great experience. We had some small problems on the last day and when we took this up with the agency they offered us a free 1 day horse riding tour which was very generous. Very helpful and their English is excellent.

We booked the Humantay Laguna tour with the Peru Golden Treks & Expeditions agency and our experience was wonderful. Our guide was Jessica, who helped in the most critical moments of the trail, in addition to being super attentive and friendly.
We recommend!

We booked a tour from 7-13 to ride squads, visit two lakes and the salar of maras. The tour included guide, equipment and 2 hours riding the squads. Nothing of this happened!
We were told we will join a group of 11 people and ride in a mini van, but they picked us up late at 7:30 in a small taxi instead of a mini van, we were 3 people in total, no guide. No complete equipment and dirty. We had to pay to practice with the squads (this was not part of the deal) a local man with 3 squads took us to 1 lake that again we had to paid to enter (again not part of the deal) and another lake that we saw just from far away, not at all what they described in the agency. The total time of ridding was not even 1h 30min. After that we took the little taxi again to the salar of maras, with the same local guy that took us around with the squads, nobody explain us where we were or what was the place about, very disappointing tour. Wasn't over at 13:00 we were back around 12:00 and the little taxi didn't put us in the pick up point, but when it was more convenient for him.
The entire thing felt very informal and improvised even tho we paid the same price that is advertised in most agencies, we just chose the wrong one...
Be careful with this agency and read other reviews because I found out more people had similar negative experiences like mine!

Don’t expect to have the mountain for you, you will have to queue to take a picture, this tour arrived like this other.
We was supposed to have a guide for visite the rainbow mountain. But he tell us to go ahead. In fact we have been all alone without explication of the site and without first aid kit in case of problème and not knowing the time we could spend on the mountain.

The agencie told us that we could have a guy who spoke English but he answered in Spanish.

Plus someone is grafted to the group without paying, result not enough place at the lunch table.

I don’t recommend this tour operator.

Worst agency in cusco, Miluzka doesn’t know mich about current situations. She still wanted to sell trips even roads were flooded and it‘s impossible to go to Machu Picchu on that day.
Once you decided not to book she got unfriendly

This tour company is outstanding! Henry and Ruth went out of their way to make sure we had the tours. Because of the strikes, we ended up having 2 tours booked with other tour companies cancelled, but Henry met us at our hotel both days and personally took us to the new tours.

First, we signed up for the ATV Tour. Henry logistically arranged for us to get their via walking, ATVs, and motorcycles, since most roads were closed because of the strike. Once we arrived at the ATV base camp, the guide was amazing. He took us onto the training path, and once we were ready we went on the Forest path. We got to experience all kinds of terrain. He showed us an interesting cave. We had an amazing time!!

The second tour we did was the Skybike, which includes rock climbing, skybike, and then repelling. This beyond exceeded our expectations! The guides made sure we were comfortable and felt safe. It was incredible!

Again, I highly recommend you use Henry and Ruth and their company. They are so nice and went out of their way to make sure we had a great time!!!

Rented a Honda Tornado 250cc from their office in address "Calle Plateros".

More or less the bike was in average condition. The engine was a bit weak and the chain needed a change (as long as i kept it oiled it was ok).
It wasn't in tip-top condition but i have had worse.
Price was decent.
The personnel is super-slow and they depend on their boss for all transactions that involve money.
So far I would give the business 3 stars.

However when I returned the bike, accident-free, after waiting for 3 hours for their boss to return because the personnel cant act on their own, their boss started claiming I damaged the bike.
First the engine was weak, as if it was my fault they cant maintain their bikes properly,
then I damaged the lock, which turned out to only have dust inside and a little water magically fixed it
then the handlebar was bent, like I can bend a handlebar with my bare hands
then the clutch had a scratch and they needed to replace it.

I cant honestly say if I managed to scratch the clutch handle, it is hard to say with all the scratches the bike already had, I can tell for a fact that everything else was a poor cheating attempt and that they will never ever replace the handle.

I paid 50 soles in the end just to get my deposit back.
Be extremely careful when renting motorcycles, make pictures if necessary.

1 star thoroughly deserved.

Did a 4 day Ausangate and Rainbow Mountain trek with this company in October 2017.

[ ] When booking the trek, we were told by Henrry in the Cusco office that because we were doing the Ausangate trek over 4D/3N rather than 5D/4N, we would have to pay extra for special transportation as we are doing a special route. This turned out to be the public bus at a standard one way cost of 10 soles per person.
[ ] Upon paying in full for the trek, 3 days before we were due to start, Henrry told us that we were to meet him in the Cusco office on the evening prior to the start of the trek (which happened to be a Sunday). He would then issue us with the agreed equipment. When we got to the office, it was closed. According to the neighbouring store, Peru Golden Treks does not even open on Sundays. After multiple communication attempts via phone, email, WhatsApp and Facebook, we finally received a response 5 hours later (which was at 12:35 am with planned picked up at 04:30 am) that the agreed gear would be provided in the morning. Not a single word of apology for the screw around was offered.
[ ] Promised spare emergency horse. Not provided and clearly a surprise to the guide. We ended up paying an extra 120 soles to get a spare horse at the start of the trek.
[ ] Promised wheat free food. Not provided. Guide was surprised that we'd requested this so clearly the message hadn't been passed on. He did try his best to accommodate this dietary requirement with the food he had brought.
[ ] Promised tent to fit us as we are both over 6 feet tall. Not provided. The one provided was dirty, leaky and mouldy. We ended up sleeping in the cooking tent together with our guide.
[ ] Promised 1 guide and at least 1 horseman. Only a single guide provided.
[ ] Guide was generally nice and tried to be friendly, but kept going ahead without us and didn't explain the path before disappearing. This would not have happened if a separate horseman was provided.
[ ] After requesting drinking water on the second morning of the trek, we were offered approximately 1 litre of boiled water for 2 people for an 8 hour day of hiking. The hot kettle was given to us but we declined as it would have melted our water bladders. Luckily, we had purification tablets to treat water ourselves from then on.
[ ] When booking and twice on the first morning, we were told that there were hot springs available at the first camp site. It wasn't until we got about 1km past the first camp site and finally caught up to the guide that upon enquiring about the hot springs, we were told that in fact they are not currently operational. Not anyone's fault, but disappointing nevertheless.
[ ] Did not pick us up from the bus station and take us back to our accommodation as promised.

I m a big off-road lover and passing in front their office l saw the advertising of tours by motorbikes, so l went in and booked a private one for the day next to Maras (Salinas), Moraya and Chincero, with a guide. It wasn't cheap at all, but l liked their presentation, l like drive off road and so the day next at 8.30 we were in front their office, the lady told if we could wait 10 mins, coz the bikes were not ready still, no problem, l m in holiday...we left at 9.40!
Our guide was a really kind guy, but kindness is not synonymous of guide, in fact he didn't speak English and more over he didn't know nothing, neither a place s name nor a bit of stories if those amazing places we ve been and unfortunately he s not able to drive a motorbike, really, l m not saying for be rude, just he wasn't able.
I don t know about their other tours, but definitely not book a motorcycle one!

We booked two tours through this company, they didn't pick us up for the first, which was the Rainbow Mountains. We managed to get on another tour completely by luck and coincidence, and they assured us that the same thing would not happen on the next trip, which was to Puno from Cusco. We were waiting in our hotel reception and when the time passed to pick us up and they still hadn't arrived, we began to worry. To get on the tours to Puno you have to leave early in the morning and all the other tour companies were closed. We tried calling them (like we had for the rainbow mountains) and again no one answered! We tried numerous times. We ended up getting a taxi to the bus pick up point, despite being reassured they would collect us from the hotel (we even went back into their shop the night before to make sure they would be collecting us in the morning!). It turns out the man in charge had not paid the tour (they sub contract out to other people) and we got on the bus only thanks to a very helpful lady at the central station. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS!!!!! They will take your money and then don't give you anything they promised!!
