Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Dael took us on a fantastic tour of San Pedro market great insight into Peruvian cooking and wider culture- very informative guide and happy to answer any questions!
Then off to the “Studio” which was brilliantly equipped! We really got stuck in making some amazing Peruvian food with some fantastic quality ingredients!

Too tip - go hungry! You will not leave that Way!

Restaurant quality food and left feeling informed, up-skilled and not at all hungry!

PS. Totally veggie friendly

Dael led our group on a fascinating tour of the bustling San Pedro Market to select the meats, produce, and spices for our class. He explained all the different fruits and veggies we would be using and their importance in Peruvian culture. Sampling cheeses, chocolate, and breads made the market even more enjoyable. Back at the beautiful cooking studio, we were able to make our own Passionfruit/Hibiscus Pisco Sours, then led through the creation of an amazing multi course gourmet meal showcasing the amazing Peruvian culinary history. We prepped, diced, sautéed, and puréed our way through the menu with Dael’s charming guidance. Dessert was an absolute showstopper!

This was a very fun and informative activity. If you want to learn more about Peruvian food, you should definitely take this cooking class. Mauricio was wonderful! We started the day with a great tour of the San Pedro Market where Mauricio did an excellent job explaining to us the foods, fruits, vegetables, and condiments in the market. We even tried a few local cheeses and chocolates. The tour of the market was very educational and it added a lot to the experience. Once we bought all the ingredients for our cooking class, we headed to the kitchen, which is a short walk from the market. The cooking class was very fun and everything we prepared was delicious. After our class, chef Mauricio emailed us all the recipes along with a few pictures he took of our group. We learned a lot, laughed a lot and have a great day. I highly recommend this cooking class with chef Mauricio.

My friend and I did this tour on our second day in Cusco and had a wonderful experience! Our chef was very knowledgeable and a great guide to local foods throughout the market. I think the homemade pisco sours and ceviche were definitely a highlight for our group. They were very accommodating of the vegetarian in our group as well. 10/10 would recommend!

Mauricio was wonderful. The tour of the market was incredible and added so much to the experience. We even got to talk with the herbal medicinal woman and saw so many fruits for the first time. The cooking class was fun and the food was great! Making pisco sours was great. We learned a lot and enjoyed ourselves!
FYI-this is located about a 13 min walk from the market away from the center of town.

My hat's off to Dael for meeting my friend and I at the market as previously agreed (time and location were exactly as he described). Dael took us to several vendors and advised what they were selling (in Peru terms) and what each item was used for. He completely understood my dairy allergy and adjusted recipes so that I could eat and enjoy our culinary creations without any concerns.
The time allocated is well spent. We had sufficient time to prepare each dish and ask questions. I would definitely recommend this "tour" to anyone that is looking for a non climbing/trekking experience in Peru. It's a great way to gain a basic understanding of Peruvian cuisine and have fun at the same time.

Thanks Dael!

This was both fun and informative. Dael was equally excellent in explaining Peruvian foods in San Pedro Market and showing us how to cook them back at the studio. And he emailed us all of the recipes after the class so we didn’t have to take notes. Highly recommended!

Had an amazing time at this class! Dael was so informative and very helpful. Touring the market was a great start to teaching us about the area. The class area was nice and very accommodating. Had so much fun learning how to make the traditional recipes. We were able to do our own work after it was demonstrated. Food was tasty and got recipes after!
