Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

First, I want to tell anyone reading this that there is no reason to hesitate going to Peru right now. Despite what your country travel office, state department or travel agent says it is completely safe and there are no travel issues. The people and businesses depend on tourism, and Peru is one hundred percent open and ready for you to come.
That said, we had a fantastic Inca Trail trip with Andean Adventures. Our family of 4 (me, my wife and our two teen daughters) did the 4 day/3 night trip ending at Machu Pichu. It is quite an undertaking with the dry hot air and altitude during the day and cold nights, but totally worth it. You will see far more Inca ruins, learn more Peruvian history and feel a bigger sense of accomplishment than you would just riding in a bus or tour car and walking around Machu Pichu for a few hours.
Our trail crew was amazing. Rubin our head guide was super knowledgeable and scheduled our departures/arrivals each day so we got the maximum enjoyment with least hassles and crowds. And it truly helped that his English was far, far better than our barely useful traveler's Spanish. We learned a ton about Inca history and culture from him.
And the porter/cook team was amazing. Thanks soooo much Nissaro (head porter) and Valeria (head cook) for making everything work flawlessly. And hats off to the porter crew who seemed to have endless energy passing us on the trail everyday with their huge loads. Thank you Max, Clemente, Julian, Benito, Florencio, Santos and Enrique!
All around excellent trip - don't hesitate to go see for yourself!

We had an amazing time on our trip arranged by Andean Adventures. We had six days in which we got to see Cusco highlights, explore the sacred valley, visit Machu Picchu, and hike up rainbow mountain.

Everything was so easy and went smoothly, from making the reservations, tweaking the itinerary and being picked up at the airport. Oswaldo, our guide, shared with us so much knowledge about the history of the area and the Incas, and he made sure to take care of us so that we enjoyed our time.

The itinerary was really well designed and well paced to ensure that by the time we hiked Rainbow Mountain, on the last day, we were well acclimatised and had no issues with the altitude. Our visit to Machu Picchu was also perfectly organised so that we arrived at a time that was not too busy and we got to enjoy our visit. I really appreciated this attention to detail and it was a testament to the experience and knowledge of the company.

Our driver, Fausto also was impeccable, navigating all the roads with ease and we felt comfortable and safe throughout the whole trip.

I would really recommend this company for planning your trip to the Andes and hopefully we will be back someday; we have many reasons to want to return!

Challenging trek but really well looked after. Thanks to our guide Ernesto, our chef Valeria and the rest of the team. We particularly enjoyed playing cards with Percy and Ephrahim

We had nearly 4 weeks in Peru on a custom tour with nearly all of it organised by Andean Adventures Peru. Hard to describe how good and varied the experience was as we travelled from Lima to Paracas, Ica, Arequipa, Lake Titicaca, Puno, Cusco, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and Tambopata. The trip from Puno to Cusco by train was a great experience and the longer trip in Tambopata (5D4N) definitely worth doing as we camped overnight and visited the macaw salt licks. Arrangements (drivers, guides, hotels and transportation) were faultless - its always good to know when the plane lands there is someone there to meet you and a bed has been arranged. Guides were pleasant, knowledgeable and punctual and special thanks go to Evelyn who maintained contact with us over the last couple of years whilst we were marooned in Australia and developing the itinerary. Also we are thankful that Andean Adventures Peru were still there, with our deposit intact, when LATAM finally resumed flights to Peru.

Our trip could not have gone any better. Thanks to Andean Adventures for coordinating our schedule, and for getting us the best guide ever (Mauro). I would not hesitate recommending this tour group to anyone.

Phenomenal trip to Peru that included Machu Picchu, Pisac, Ollantaytambo and Rainbow Mountain! Andean Adventures Peru custom tailored everything based on my timeline including drivers in Lima. All current COVID measures were used. I highly recommend them! Whether in Cusco, Lima or other towns, the Peruvian people were some of the warmest I have met during my time traveling.

My wife and I just finished a 13-day tour (June 3-15) with Andean Adventures Peru and it was just fabulous, truly inspiring. We decided to book it in February, knowing we would be vaccinated and hopeful to beat the rush of returning tourists as sites started to reopen in Peru. We couldn’t have pulled this off without Stephen and Evelyn. Their local knowledge and planning allowed us to successfully navigate the initial hurdles due to changing Covid restrictions. Once we hit the ground, the trip was absolutely flawless. We started out in Cusco with Ernesto (one of the most professional, passionate, and knowledgeable guides we have ever had), visiting Sacred Valley, Rainbow mountain, hiked the last leg of the Inca trail to Sungate, and finally Machu Picchu. There might have been 200 people at Rainbow mountain and 500 at Machu Picchu (it was like having it to ourselves). We then flew to Puerto Maldonado, took a boat ride down the Tambopata river and spent two nights at their Tambopata Ecolodge. It was the perfect way to experience the Amazon rainforest, completely unique and authentic in every way. Finally, we spent a few days touring Lima where they helped arrange our required covid test required for reentry into the US. While Covid has taken a heavy toll on tourism in Peru, we felt safer there than we do sometimes in our home state (everyone wears a mask in group settings). If you’re even considering it, we highly recommend booking Peru this year before the crowds return to pre-Covid levels and based on our experience, I feel an obligation to recommend this company to anyone considering a similar journey. You will get a highly knowledgeable and personalized Peruvian experience.

Thank you for a fabulous adventure from pick up at the airport in Cusco, to tours of the Sacred Valley, to the four-day hike of the Inca Trail, tour of Machu Picchu and departure. The tour arranged by Jim McDaniels of Amazon Adventures for the Arndt party of nine was a trip of a lifetime. The guides, Rubin and Marco, were extremely knowledgeable, encouraging and entertaining. The food service was excellent including the unexpected popcorn appetizer every night. The drivers and porters provided excellent service at every step of our journey. I would recommend your company for anyone contemplating a Machu Picchu adventure. Well done to your entire crew.

First of all, we had the best guides ever!!! All the staff was great, friendly and always very helpful. The equipment was very good, the tents worked well and the cook and his food were excellent. Amazing what they could do on the side of a mountain at high altitude!! I was assisted when needed and all of us were well taken care of. An adventure beyond belief.
