Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A lot of religious art in a carved wood building.
I've enjoyed the visit and even if youre not into religion it's nice to see the place.

This place is a museum, workshop and store. Antonio Olave is dead but his school of art focused on the study and recreation of Incan Pottery and Colonial religious art. After spending time in Lima, M.Picchu and Cusco, I really wanted a special souvenir from my trip. Having gone to the museums, this workshop does exactly what it claims. It makes quality replicas, real conversation pieces. I bought a vase and after getting back, I regretted not getting an even bigger one. The woman took such care wrapping it, I could have carried an even bigger one. Nonetheless, it looks beautiful on my mantle now. Their English is limited, but they will try to explain the significance of all the markings on the pieces and how they are typical for Incan artistry. A real showstopper included ears of corn, a puma and snake coiled around the vase, all three dimensional. I should have gone for it. This place is unique because Cusco is full of shops selling the same crap, while telling you to beware of everyone else. This place is in a league all of its own. I'm reviewing it so that I can remember it when I go back.

This museum/ store has so many wonderful pieces, its amazing.
The detail of the paintings on the pottery pieces, or the sculptures are such, that you can stay there admiring each one for a while.
They sell them. But I was afraid to ask for the prices.

Without a question one of the most important districts in Cusco is San Blas due to its artisan traditions. There you will find Antonio Olave's studio, whose pottery is unlike any other in Cusco. He uses Sacsayhuaman ceramic shards to fashion museum quality reproductions of Killke ceramics. His art work is expensive but the craftmanship, detail and colors are worth it. Mr. Olave is also one of the Premier Pottery Folk Artists of Peru and is designated as Gran Maestro de la Artesania Peruana Patrimonio Cultural Vivo De la Nacion (a living piece of Peruvian heritage). The Contemporary Art Museum of Cusco houses Mr. Olave's creations on the top floor of the museum. Don't miss this historical studio while visiting Cusco.

Antonio Olave is an artist who specializes in Peruvian pottery. He paints intricate designs on his vases, plates, bowls and other types of pieces.

Facing the front of San Blas church, walk up the narrow street along the left side of the church. Halfway up the street, on the left, is 651 Plaza San Blas. (And the phone number is 231835.)

The courtyard and store itself are nice to see, even if you don't buy anything.

Nice presentations.
Incredible. Good to visit with children, because you can teach things in detail.
