We were coming from Cusco - Ollantaytabo. This is quite a drive to get there. You will have to pass 4500 m to do down to 2000 m afterwards. It is quite a difference in temperature: it is hot and humide. We stayed unfortunately only one afternoon and a short morning. you need more time to find (and enjoy) the... More

4D 3N tour to the Manu Wildlife Reserve was fantastic. We did a lot of research into the best looking tour operator for the jungle experience and we weren't disappointed. The organisation was spot on, we were given clear guidance about what the trip would involve plus the costs. Saulo was our main guide, he was outstanding, very competent, passionate... More

We did the 5 night trip into the Reserved zone and it was pure magic. We read a lot about the getting in and out and what agencies to go with before our trip and I have to say, that most reviews were a bit exaggerating. We went in early January (the last trip Bonanza does before the break do... More

The wildlife centre is 7 hours from Puerto Maldonado by van and boat. The macaw clay lick is the highlight. And oxbow lake is rich with critters. 3 days is enough. The little cabins are great and food is good home-style quality. Don't let them wash clothes for you....we still can't get the cheap perfume smell out of my shirts.

Ask for Boris - In fact all 4 brothers - Phillipe, William, Rise and Boris - grew up in the interiors of Manu National Park and extremely knowledgeable about the Flora and Fauna. Saw plenty of native birds (40 +), Monkeys, Jaguar amongst others. Cesario is an excellent cook and rustled up tasty dishes each day for the week we... More

My husband and I had an amazing experience in the Manu and I can echo the enthusiastic comments of a 2008 Tripadvisor review “Pantiacolla Tours - absolutely wonderful!” in most aspects. First of all, this is a nature experience without a match! There are not many “untouched” places on the earth where one can so completely get away from the... More

Very tough drive from Cuzco ...was there during rainy season and lits of landslides. Its all worth it when you get there. You are on the fringes of a wildlife reserve larger than Costa Rica. The valkey has leks where cocks of the rock congregate. Plants are enormous. Birders paradise ...

If you're going there, go for the 5 days tour. You'll be going further into the jungle -> less tourists -> more wildlife! Don't even think about skipping this one, it's one of the best things in Peru!
