I attended Sunday Mass here and it was worthwhile to see how they celebrate (6am, 7 am, 9 am and 10 am) - I recommend it if you are in town on a Sunday. Beautiful chapels and history.

This is a big cathedral on the Plaza de Armas in the centre of Cusco. Lots to see inside - beside the usual religious components, there is Cusco colonial art, many archeological relics and a massive gold altar. Worth a look when visiting the main...More

This cathedral is really interesting..Many of the stones, used in the construction of the outer walls of the cathedral, apparently came from the Inca site of Saqsayhuaman. The cathedral has 14 side chapels with beautiful artwork. Below the main altar is a crypt holding several of...More

I am by no means an art expert, although I lived in Europe for 6 years and visited many churches and museums there. The paintings in the cathedral were dark and hard to see, but the Last Supper with the guinea pig was certainly interesting....More

I had never seen anything like this cathedral. You need to go and admire what is inside. You will be extraordinarily amazed with all of the paintings, monuments and spirits you feel while in there.

I have visited many cargedrals in Europe but none compare. So much silver and gold, blending of Inca and Roman Catholic traditions.

A huge cathedral in 3 sections. Rather daunting to see so many statues and decorations. So different to most we have seen.

The Cusco Cathedral is beautiful just like all the other churches in Plaza de Armas. It's worth stopping and going inside. You will not be disappointed.

Unlike many colonial cathedrals the decorations here are simple but that does not detract from them. The paintings are high quality. Well worth visiting.

No need to book in advance. You should be able to get in during the day unless there is a reason that the church is closed.
