Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our guide Joaquin shared his passion and knowledge of Cusco with us on a city tour. Through his personal experiences of the city and his knowledge of its history we were able learn about and appreciate the continued influence of the Inca culture on this area of the world. The tour was fun, interesting and entertaining. I highly recommend Palcoyo Expeditions.

Went there with my daughter this year, it’s a beautiful place where you can find the famous “rainbow mountains” and, beyond that, a very interesting rock formation they call “rock forest”. It’s a great option for those who want to see the rainbow mountains but feel that they may not deal well with the altitude exercise. Besides, the rock forest is only seen in Palcoyo. However, they shouldn’t advertise it as a light available-to-everyone Vinicunca (“original” rainbow mountain), since it’s pretty high too (4800m). For us it was ok, but we were in altitude for at least 72hs (Puno, Sacred Valley and 1 day in Cusco before). In our group there were people who felt sick because of the altitude sickness and couldn’t complete the track.

Joaquin was a legend. You should not do any hikes or exploring without his expertise. He knows the area, the weather, and timing like the back of his hand to make sure you have the smoothest experience. He takes care of so much that would take hours of your own to plan. I couldn’t recommend him more!!! I plan on coming back solely to work more with Joaquin.

This experience is unlike any other. It is a personalized experience made to your liking. this is more than just having a tour guide. This is having someone along your side making sure everything you need is taken care of, from start to finish. Booking with this company will put you ahead of the curve making sure you do and see Peru in a way that makes you feel special and separate from the average tourist. This is for the adventurer, the seeker, the nomad, the spiritualist and the go-getter.

Joaquin and company made my birthday trip one of the most incredible experiences I have ever had. Everything was carefully planned out, so we had the most optimal timing for viewing destinations with the least amount of tourists on our path.
Cuisine was exquisite and careful preparations were made for my gluten-free diet at every single stop upon our arrival. On the last day our chef even made me a little birthday cake on the track:) Joaquin extended our journey with him for an addition to Machu Picchu. He knew exactly how to time the lines so we were the first ones in and got the best pictures with no one else in sight. All along the way he would give us our time of walking alone or join us at various times to share aspects about Incan history, Peru itself and familial traditions. He tempered our desire to have alone time or guided tour time just right. Honestly, I could go on and on, but him and his crew really gave us a very magical experience. I would without a doubt recommend Palcoyo Expeditions and will continue sending my friends to them in the future.

Joaquin was my guide on the Inca Trail. I did the short trail and it was just the right level of hiking so I was able to take in all of the beauty. Joaquin is very friendly and fun. Unfortunately I only speak English, but I had no problems understanding him. His English is very good. It was an experience I'll never forget and I would do it again, and would want Joaquin as our guide.

Joaquin is an amazing tour guide. He is very thoughtful, friendly and with a good sense of humor. Because of Joaquin, me and my wife had a great time visiting Rainbow Mountain with an ease. It was one of the most unforgettable journeys in our life and I'd recommend Joaquin simply because he is the BEST!

My boyfriend and I went on a 4D3N trip with Joaquin as our guide, and it was an amazing experience! He's fluent in English, and is able to share plenty of interesting information about Peru, Cusco, the Andes and even on local culture!

On top of being an excellent guide, he had great photography skills and helped us to capture many lovely shots, which make great memories. He would also go out of his way to accommodate our requests!

The mountains were beautiful, and the hike was really unforgettable. It's definitely on our top ten most memorable experiences! We really enjoyed our experience with him, and wouldn't hesitate to book a trip with him if we are ever back in Cusco. Once is definitely not enough!

I contacted Palcoyo Expeditions at the last minute. they answered quick and they accommodated me on their trip to the Farallones. We were in a small group and our guide Joaquin was very knowledgeable about the new tourist attraction. I highly recommend this company to all people who want to go in a small group and have memorable experience.
