- Rodrigo R11 contributionsA great place to support local artisans and learn about alpacasI recently visited Manos de la Comunidad and I was really impressed with the experience. The shop sells a variety of alpaca wool products, as well as other souvenirs from the region. The prices were fair, and the quality of the products was excellent. I was particularly impressed with the shop's commitment to supporting local artisans. The alpaca wool is sourced from local communities, and the products are handcrafted by local artisans. This helps to support the local economy and preserve traditional Peruvian crafts. In addition to shopping, I also had the opportunity to learn about alpacas. The shop has a small petting zoo where you can see alpacas, llamas, and other Andean animals up close. The staff was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. Overall, I had a great experience at Manos de la Comunidad. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Cusco.Visited July 2023Travelled soloWritten 15 November 2023
- Salman LouMontreal, Canada21 contributionsA llamazing timeI was recommended to visit this place by a local friend who knew my love for animals and Llamas in this particular occasion 😅. I had an amazing time feeding and taking selfies with the Llamas. You can feel they are very well treated as they are very docile and not scared at all. If you are looking for locally made crafts and clothes don’t miss the store on your way out, you are sure to get the authentic stuff here and it was explained to me that the price you pay is fairly distributed to local craftswomen and craftsmen, so I definitely encourage you to buy from them. I could easily have missed this place as it is not located in the historic center where all the tourists are. It deserves to be more well known so please go there and spread the word if you enjoy your visit.Visited April 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 16 November 2023

- Mohamed A1 contributionGood experiencesDiscovered this hidden gem thanks to a friend's recommendation who knew my fascination with animals, especially Llamas. Had a blast feeding and snapping selfies with these adorable creatures. They're incredibly gentle, clearly well cared for, and utterly fearless. Don't overlook the store on your way out—amazing local crafts and clothes! Plus, buying supports local artisans. It's off the beaten path from the touristy spots, but totally worth finding. Such a hidden treasure; do visit and share the love if you drop by!Visited November 2023Travelled soloWritten 17 November 2023

It seemed like a great place when I was there. I was happy to pay such high prices to support the mission. The very polished presenter and salesman told me that the items I bought would not shrink, so I was very disappointed to have them become worthless (tiny) upon the first wash. At first he promised to replace them, then never responded more. Very sad to discover that it appears to be more of a "make money off tourists" place than any real service to the community.

This is a great area to learn more about llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas! You are given food to give and pet them. During the tour, they also explain to you the process the locals knit with the fur from the animals. At the end, you pass through their store which there are plenty employees near by if you have a question (however they are not pressuring you to buy). We all had a great experience learning about the animals and locals, and products made in Cusco!

Cross between a petting zoo and a craft outlet.
Vicunas are designated wild animals but some rescued ones are allowed to be kept here, as well as the domesticated Llama and alpacas.
Some ladies weaving, some handicrafts, some musicians, jewellery, clothing.
Seems like a stopping point for group tours in the area?
Toilets.

Scam scam scam.
Be aware. Don’t buy anything. They charged more than twice the actual price.
La Vicunita factory in Cusco also sells same items for 100% baby alpacca.
Item I found at La Vicunita for USD $30, I bought same for USD $70-80.
