Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had an amazing experience at Rainbow mountains. Our guide Wally was super energetic and friendly. We cannot recommend enough for him to be your tour guide. He is very knowledgeable, helpful and cheerful. 5 stars and beyond for Wally the superstar. He made our experience wonderful. Thank you Wally!

Please do not go with this tour company. Even if it’s last minute. I regret going with this company. The guide was fine and very nice but his English was not the best and he did not know much about touring Machu Picchu. I paid to hike Montana mountain and even telling the guide that’s all I wanted to do. He said I could do it in the afternoon after the tour of Machu Picchu with the rest of the group. This did not happen because you cannot hike the mountain after 10 AM. So, even though I paid to hike Montana mountain at Machu Picchu, I did not do that, the company did not reimburse me for the money I paid.
They do not provide water along the tour and you have to buy it the whole time and the food was very small and not a lot of options. Getting tickets to Machu Picchu as well as train tickets and bus ride back to Cusco was also very confusing and not very helpful from the guide or the people at the office.
The worst part was the woman, Katia, at the office. She was not helpful at all leading up to the trip. She did not provide an itinerary about the trip and what was online was not what we did. She said she was going to email me an itinerary and she never did, as well as addressing the concerns. I had the night before the trip. This company also lost my suitcase even though they said I could keep it at their office while doing the tour. Katia also tricked me about my suitcase when she said it was not at the office and asked me to identify the items in the bag. I thought she was using those items to identify the bag. I even wrote my name and phone number on the bag but the company still let somebody else walk off with it. When they admitted to losing my bag Katia said that I will only be replaced for the items I wrote down to identify it. I felt tricked, I did not feel welcomed, and I felt every question I asked was bothering this woman. Another girl on my tour had done many tours in South America and she said this was definitely the worst one. The trip itself was fun and we did a lot of cool things but the company treats you like they don’t care about you. I even tipped the tour guide, and when I told him I could not hike Montana mountain he acted like it was my fault. please do not give your money to this tour company, they do not run a quality business.

The tour guide was very helpful in explaining us the history and assisting us with oxygen. He also pointed to us the good spots for pictures, which helped me avoid the line everyone was waiting.

Great experience. 3 1/2 hours including transit, saw Plaza de Armas, la Catedral, and iglesia de Santo Domingo. Our guide Mayrol was excellent, very informative and had lots of great stories. Perfect half day introduction to Lima.

Organization was okay. Breakfast and lunch were basic. Humantay lake was breathtaking, although pretty full. The guide (W***) tries to convince you to take a horse, as he gets 20 Soles commission per person. They made us buy another 4 Soles worth of insurance, with no sign of an offering. In the end the guide collected all those insurance cards. (I guess to sell this scam to the next group and pocket 4 Soles from everyone)! Left a bad taste.

Robinsons tour was absolutely brilliant, so well organised and everything ran smoothly. He gave us so great information while on the trek and was really helpful when my partner got altitude sickness. Great day out and beautiful hike.

Wow that was hard but rewarding! The elevation really kicks your butt but if you take it slow, anyone that’s somewhat athletic can handle it. Our tour guide Wally was so helpful and made the whole experience very positive!! Loved this experience and would recommend to anyone. 10/10

Overall the value for what you pay is incredible.

You get picked up in the morning. The communication the day before and morning of could be better. The bus was late picking us up, but they have to pick up everybody from their hotels so it does take a while - which is fine I just wish the communication of how the process works was better.

You drive for 2 hours then stop and have breakfast buffet with coffee/tea and it is very good. Then you drive another ~2 hours to the location.

You can take a motorcycle or horse to the top. It’s not too long of a hike but the elevation is so high it’s easy to get winded. Luckily they have horses waiting along the hike incase you need one to get to the top.

It was an extremely beautiful location. Amazing landscape.

You leave hike and go back to same food location for late lunch, then go home. Overall was about a ~14 hour day.

Our trip leader was Edwin and he was extremely knowledgeable and very nice and helpful. We felt well taken care of, he even helped us out when we ran out of soles and only had USD.

Overall amazing experience and great tour guide. 4-stars because of the pick up communication.
