Bioandean Expeditions and their team put in a lot of effort to make this trip better. We really wanted to see the lagoon but a little worried about the altitude. Jhoel the guide convinced us and always walked with us assuring us and encouraging us, he did a tremendous job to make this something special
.This is the first excursion we did when we arrived in Cusco and it was an incredible experience. The views are spectacular and the turquoise lagoon is truly wonderful. The whole day trip was well worth it and we highly recommend travelers not to miss out on this hidden gem.

What an amazing experience with Bioandean Expeditions! We were very well looked after and everything was perfectly organized. The views were incredible and our guide Mauro was extremely knowledgeable and informative.
The hike was tough and definitely not for the faint of heart, but it was absolutely beautiful along the way and just stunning at the top. You have plenty of time on the hike so you can take as many breaks as you need which was great because we never felt rushed and had almost a full hour to take pictures at the top, I won't forget this trip thanks to Mauro, the porters and Bioandean Expeditions in general!

We did the one day tour to Laguna Humantay with Bioandean Expeditions and it was a great experience. They came to pick us up at the hotel very early, the mobility was very comfortable and our guide was very funny and knew everything about the area, very good attention, very responsible and friendly staff. Lake Humantay and the mountains that surround it are beautiful. The hike is not too strenuous and you can take your time. We booked the tour at their local office in Cusco, a day before the tour and it was much more affordable than any offer we could find online.

This was included as part of the first day of our 5 Day Salkantay Trek. We referred to it as our "training hike" for the remainder of the 5 day experience. It was beautiful.

An incredible lake to see! Absolutely stunning. The hike up was hard with the increased elevation, but it's well worth it!

A very demanding route, especially if you are prone to altitude sickness, but very rewarding.
I suggest taking a private tour and leave after 9am, and not at 4am. Really couldn’t understand this madness. Route to trail head is ~3 hours and the ascent from 60 to 90 minutes. Take layers for the cold and water.

We did the excursion with Bioandean Expeditions, who exceeded our expectations. They came to pick us up at the hotel at 4:30 am and we left for Mollepata where we had breakfast to have energy, everything was perfectly planned and they fulfilled everything promised.
The ascent to Laguna Humantay is a bit steep, it is short but very steep, if you go slowly and in good company you will not feel it. If you don't have a good physique there is no problem, there are horses that take you further and you have to walk a bit. After the effort, the view is totally worth it, it is a beautiful lagoon with the snow-capped mountains in the background. a beautiful place.

Beautiful spot and good training for the Inca Trail. Quite the road to drive there though! Be prepared for mud, dirt roads, and hairpin curves ... for well over an hour. Once at the trail though, it is gorgeous. The hike up to the lake is pretty straight forward, but up constantly. The glacier is stunning.

First of all, please don't support animal exploitation and go walking instead of renting horses.
I hired private transport (500 soles) and arrived at 6AM, so I was completely alone at the lagoon until 10h30; by that time, tours started to arrive.
Entrance fee is 20 soles for foreigners and 10 soles for nationals.
The distance to get to the lagoon is not much (around 4KM) but the hike is a little hard beacause of the altitude.
The lagoon and the landscapes are amazing but didn't like to see all the poor horses on my way down.

It was amazing. Is a medium track. But anyone with a lil experience can do it. There is a lot of agencies. And the lake is incredible. The weather can change depending of the season. There are hotels too but a tour is more than enough. You start at 4.30 and you will come back at 6pm.
