I love this tour company. Everyone involved was amazing. I set up my trip just a few days before arrival and Hernan was so very diligent in setting everything up for me in such little time. I was traveling solo and the team made the experience very memorable and safe for me. It’s already quite difficult to navigate the many obstacles it took to get to Machu Picchu and around the more rural parts of Peru so I highly recommend not doing it on your own. I travel alone very often and this was by far one of the more nuanced trips, so get yourself a tour company— more specifically, get this one!

I went to peru soon after borders were opened. I traveled from Oct 16, 2020 thru Oct 26, 2020. I was nervous unknowing the unknown of how it would be and hoping I would see Machu Picchu. Sadly, I didn’t see Machu Picchu since they had not opened it for foreigners until Nov 1st 2020. I understand that you must have advance appointments to get in. While there I did use this company, Humberto my contact. He helped me arrange my city tour to local ruins in Cusco. In many cases, I was their first US tourist.
I was very impressed with all their safety protocols. It surely exceeds the standards from the USA. I found Humberto’s info from the article of him writing to the minister to allow stranded Japanese man to enter Machu Picchu. I wanted the same help. Unfortunately, I wasn’t as lucky. Peru Raíl has yet to refund me my money. What I enjoyed the most was that I was able to take pictures with little to no one in the pictures. It was not crowded at all.

I was tested for Covid (lab PCR results only accepted) prior to leaving LAX within 48 hours results needed. Direct flights weren’t offered at the time because USA was not on the list for allowed entry. I had a layover in Panama. With that said I did the Covid test before returning home but i didn’t need it. Only if you enter the city (leave the Airport) of Panamá, they require test results of 48 hours prior to departure. Face shields are also required in addition to face mask.

Our extended family group of 8 from different cities of the US visited Peru in the last week of 2020. Hernan did a wonderful job at planning and communicating with us to put together a 5D/4N private tour itinerary, covering Pisac Ruins, Moras salt pans, 2 Day Inca Trail to Macchu Picchu and the unforgettable Rainbow mountain. We really appreciated that Hernan met with us at the Cusco airport at the start of the tour to review the plans and make sure we were set with everything we needed. We were very comfortable with the COViD 19 safety standards practised at all times.
I had a safe and enjoyable tour experience with Andean Roots Peru, and especially with our guide, Navidad. He was the most personable guide we've ever met - he was informative, friendly, and quickly became like part of our family. All of the sights were amazing and the logistics wonderfully coordinated. We also had an additional guide, Willy, on the Inca Trail Hike. I don't think we could have asked for a better tour or experience.
Our family can't emphasize enough how amazing this tour company was with Hernan and Navidad - it made the Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mountain, Cusco-Peru experience even better!

My boyfriend and I had the best experience in Peru thanks to this tour company! Hernan worked with us before we arrived and made sure we were taken care of the WHOLE way through. We told them what exactly we wanted to do, unsure if we could fit it all within a week. Surely, they made it happen!! Everything was arranged perfectly! Hernan was extremely detailed, providing all of the information we needed before hand.
We got to experience Lima, Huacachina, Paracas, Ollantaytambo, Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu through the Inca Trail!
Everyone was patient with us as we took a load of photos during our journey. They made sure our bags were taken care of if we explored the town on our own.
They also provided parting gifts to make it even more worthwhile. We highly recommend going though them if you are wanting to visit or coming back to visit Peru!!!!! Great people!!

A friend and I just completed our once in a lifetime trip to Peru and I'm so very glad that Andean Roots and in particular, Hernan, played an enormous part in giving us a fantastic experience. Hernan is very detail oriented and communicated with us daily to be sure we enjoyed the places we ate, our lodging and the guides. From Cuzco to Machu Piccu to Puno we were cared for every step of the way. Travel during Covid could have been much more of a challenge without Hernan arranging the testing we needed. Meeting us at Cuzco airport and going over details of the next few days was very helpful. Our guides were knowledgeable and friendly.. Especially, Melbin, who guided us through Machu Piccu and had an enormous source of Peruvian history she imparted to us. I, for one, will return again to see more of this beautiful country and will most certainly use Andean Roots.

Andean Roots organized one of the best trips of our lives. We learnt so much about the sights, culture, food, history and more. It really was so fun and magical. The attention to detail was impressive and we felt very comfortable throughout the way. All our tour guides were simply amazing and helpful in anything we needed. If there was anything that needed solving they were on it, and very flexible about it all. My family and I were so happy and it really was the best tour company we have ever worked with. 20/10 stars for them!!

Hernan was SO helpful for us on this trip. When I started planning the trip, Hernan helped me shape the itinerary and understand what was the best order to do things. It's hard to know how things work without being there, but he answered all my questions (and I had a lot!). As the trip went on, he was flexible as sometimes plans or desires change. He worked to make sure we had the best experience. The guides he set us up with were great and he checked on us throughout our experience. He communicated well and made sure all plans were clear for us. We felt so much more confident and secure traveling knowing that we could always reach out to him with questions and he responded quickly. It was very helpful to have a contact who knows how things work in ways that we could never figure out. He is also very honest. We never felt he was taking advantage of us or price gouging. I highly recommend working with Hernan, he cares to make your trip the best it can be!

Thank you so much for everything you have done for us, highly recommended. Professional care from pick up from the airport, through trips to Machu Picchu and the Rainbow Mountains, to return transport to the airport. We felt taken care of and safe. We got a lot of information where to go, what to eat, where to buy souvenirs at affordable prices. Full professionalism and cordiality.

Hernan at Andean Roots Peru was great to work with. He helped us navigate Peru seamlessly and provided a most excellent guide to Machu Picchu, Melbin. There was great care and attention to detail in providing train and bus tickets, entrance tickets and transportation in each city along with hotel options. All in all, we felt very well taken care of. Thank you to Hernan and all involved in making our trip to Peru epic!

My husband and I just finished an amazing trip in Peru thanks to Hernán and the amazing team at Andean Roots Peru. We knew what we wanted to do while in Peru and Hernán organized everything exactly as we wanted, as well as giving good advice about our choices. Everything was perfect! All the guides and drivers were excellent: friendly, welcoming and professional. Everything was on time and also there was flexibility if we wanted. Best of all was that Hernán constantly kept in contact. He checked in often to make sure all was ok, reminding us of what was upcoming and recommending restaurants wherever we were. We have used tour agencies in other countries to book similar multi-stop tours and Andean Roots is the best. We have never had such good service and attention to detail like this, with constant contact along the way.
We highly recommend Andean Roots Peru. If you know exactly what you want to do, use their services to coordinate and book it all to make it so much easier for yourself. If you don’t know anything about Peru and want advice and suggested itinerary, contact Andean Roots and they will help you all the way.
