On the Plaza de Arma this brute of a building is more defensive than religious from the outside. Inside the church is lots of gold leaf - another example of the money generated by the monks. There is some interesting art - look for the 'Cuzco school' painting of the Last Supper with the cooked guinea pig on the table - half way down and up to the left. There is a area containing the most wonderful dome - a South American Sistine Chapel? My favour areas are outside where the moorish courtyards are so cooling and would be in place in Morocco.…

The interior of this huge colonial edifice is a bit boring, although stunning outside. It hardly seems worth the effort to go inside when the exterior can be enjoyed from the Plaza de Armas.

the main chapel... well is ok nothing much more than that, with 3 big gold altars. it’s front facade was nice, and it’s inside court yard nice too, but the inside side chapel... wow!! they nick mane it their “6th chapel” and it was amazing! the best ceiling i have ever seen. they have also place some mirror so you can see the ceiling from another perspective and it was so luminous. Imagine some Morris decoration... just better i guess, bigger and you have the walls... beautiful.…
