I really enjoyed my stay in Yanahuara. Nice quiet area and I never felt other than safe walking around. It's about a 20 minute walk to the main Plaza de Armas of Arequipa but there are plenty of shops and supermarkets around if that's what you need.

It's a beautiful district which is about a 20-30 minute walk from the Old Town. The Mirador De Yanahuara is a must stop while you're here. Great view of the Old town and great photo opportunities. Recommended!

Headed to the viewpoint a couple of times as not far from our stay. It’s a good spot to see the volcanoes and especially Misti of course, but check if the weather is clear. Otherwise it is a waste of time, nothing much else to do there.

Though even on a cloudy day its worth stretching your legs and walking here from downtown to see a bit more of the city, thss viewpoint will really shine when you can see the volcanoes and not just the city through the arches
