By far the most impressive of all the Plazas we saw during our trip to Peru. Arequipa is such a beautiful city, loved the Volcanoes and mountains that surround the city, much more ordered and peaceful than Lima.

Bounded by cathedral, shops and restaurants, one sees tourists and local families sharing outdoor space in colonial Spanish square.

Plaza de Armas is just beautiful. Many visitors to Peru don't visit Arequipa unless they are traveling for more than 2 weeks. Arequipa is a wonderful city.

Great architecture and surrounding area filled with quite nice shops and some great restaurants. Avoid the restaurants actually in the square, in our view not very good, plenty in little courtyards in the old town. Visit Just after dark to see it floodlight, a different...More

Every city should have a central square - this one is particularly beautiful - great view of the cathedral - wonderful fountains.

I walked into the Plaza and started taking pictures. Spanish Arches along three sides, overseen by the Cathedral. Oh and the central park and fountain aren't that bad either. You will visit here regardless, so enjoy. Lots of spruckers for cafes/restaurants and tours, so just...More

The white color of the historical buildings made of local stone is just amazing. Restaurants, travel agencies, market and more are in the plaza. Great place for photographers and camera fans.

I was here also 2 years ago, the Plaza is beautiful as always except that there is not more "palomas" to feed, that was a very nice attraction people taking fotos with the "palomas" too bad they desapeared them :( still the Plaza is beautiful!!

Just lovely to walk around and sit by the side having a coffee or a beer. Also useful to navigate by as all roads seem to lead here!

There are few cars around the Plaza, and it is true main part of the city. The square has seating and a fountain in the centre, and it's a great place to just relax and watch people go by.
