Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This bridge to nowhere at least offers an overlook of the river, so all is not lost. You find yourself back tracking to take the steps down to the river trail - the real attraction. Seems like a waste of money to me.

The orginal bridge dating from 1850 was washed away by severe flooding in 1950. You can see what is left of it. The restored section of the broken bridge is sometimes used for events like concerts or art exhibitions.

You will rarely have a chance to visit a bridge that broke long ago. Rather than tear down the bridge, they just put up another, and left this one for people to enjoy.

It is rare to find a bridge that starts on one shore of a river, but does not reaqch to the other bank. The "rotten bridge" does just that. It's worth a look as you walk downstream along the Rio Tomebamba towards Pumaponga, but it wouldn't justify on its own even the short walk from the town centre.

Admire the Tomebamba River from atop here or explore art galleries located under the bridge. Many evenings feature impromptu music events or parties.

This is a well restored section of a bridge that was washed out by a flood in 1950. It is not really a tourist attraction in itself, other than it overlooks the River Tomobamba at the end.
A few times a year there are art and/or music shows in the plaza beneath the bridge though. That is the time to go, as it then provides both a nice place to look down over the festivities, as well as provides a nice location for the activities.

Its attraction is mostly of historical significance, and its architectual features in a picturesque setting along the Tomebamba River. Just a few meters from Todo Santas are the remaining arches of a bridge which's opposite side was washed out by the river many years ago. There is a lookout on the upper side, and a quiet and romantic setting below. Often artisans will exhibit under its arches and people picnic along the riverside.

This short, old bridge, no longer spans the river, but you get great views of the river if you walk to the end and look over the edge. It's a nice spot to wander and explore if you're along the river bank.

Known locally as the broken bridge, El Puente Roto honors and pays tribute to a devasting flood that tore apart the bridge and everything that was across the Rio Tomebamba from what is now know as the historic or old Cuenca, was destroyed. The bridge was repaired but not rebuilt as a reminder that nature rules, not man. Many people lost their homes and their lives. Now the bridge is a gathering place for photo ops, disco dancing and strolling visitors. From the broken bridge you are a few steps from thebCastle and all the wonderful eateries it contains.
