Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There were at least 25 people on our tour. The guide was completely bilingual and gave the tour in both Spanish and English. He was hard working and knowledgeable. We wished we had done it earlier in our stay but unfortunately we thought the Friday afternoon tour was the best from the reviews, but when we went for that , they just did not show up. So we went on this tour at 10 am Monday morning, near the end ot our stay.

We booked onto this tour of Cuenca online which was easy enough. We arrived at the meeting point 10 minutes early. But by 15 minutes after the meeting time still no guide has arrived. I emailed the company later in the day but they insisted the tour did go ahead, and that the guide just left early. Why would they start a tour more than 10 minutes early if people who were booked onto the tour hadn't arrived yet? Felt like we wasted our time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour with guide Fernando. He was friendly, knowledgable, and passionate about his city. We saw several different interesting sights and learned about the history/culture of the area. Also learned a lot about the cocoa process from our guide. Great tour!

The free walking tour is an excellent introduction to Cuenca. It is only two hours long, but provides a lot of interesting info with friendly guides. It is a nice way to start to get acquainted with the city. You can then explore other areas and museums on your own.

We found this tour from the tourist information office. We were a small group with people from all over the world. When the lady came we asked her if the tour was in English and she said that it was bilingual. However this wasn't true at all as her English was very basic! Later on i asked my boyfriend to translate what she was saying and even more people came next to us in order to hear him. When the lady saw that she didn't even try to translate any more, however as soon as she was finishing what she was saying she used to look at my boyfriend expecting him to translate for her!!! Lastly she wasn't very well informed as she gave us some confusing answers in some things that we asked her. Of course at the end she asked for tips!!!

The hostel where we stayed at recommended this tour upon our arrival to the hostel. I thought it was great. The guide was very knowledgeable, and they only ask for a tip. It lasted about 2 hours and it included a ride to and from the Museo del Sombrero, where you can get your panama hat. The guide explains everything in English and Spanish.

Great tour! Took us all around Cuenca and did a great job telling us of the history and providing recommendations. I’m glad I went on this tour as soon as I got to the city!

The most important thing in a free walking tour is to have a clear meeting point. I was waiting for 15 minutes in the place where it supposes the guide is going to be but they wasn't there. I asked local people and some policemen about the address and no-one wasn't sure about the location. My recommendation is to visit the city with other company

TWICE, we have showed up for the tour, and we (two of us) and 10 -12 other people just wait around... and they don't show up. If you insist on going on this tour, don't plan your Friday around it.... It appears that there is a great likelihood that they won't even show up to conduct the tour.

Outstanding volunteers showing parts of scenic and historical Cuenca that visitors might not see otherwise. Historical buildings with incredible art. Architecture and the story behind it. There's so much for anyone with any interest in history, architecture, art, or just wanting to get to know this amazing city better. They were very friendly and informative, and the tour lasted almost two hours. It's hard to believe that this was free. It was a valuable tour and we enjoyed every minute.
