On our travels through Ecuador we have visited many churches and found them very interesting. This one didn't disappoint, interesting artwork and sculpture and lots of places to light candles if you like to (we do!)

The place is just beautiful. Is an excellent venue for music concerts (usually free!) There is a fee to visit the museum here...worth it!

I stopped by here when it was open, and have heard it’s a great concert location, as well. In the center of town, definitely worth visiting.

The old cathedral is now accessible as a museum and definitely worth a small visit. You won't regret it.

The church is in restoration and it is interesting to see what they are salvaging. The sculpture and painting is exquisite... More humanistic that the Quito school.

There are frequent free concerts given here. That is the best time to come. No need for amplifiers here, since the space was designed so well for sound.

The domes are being refurnished and painted but the cathedral is still open limited hours. Visit the iTur office across from the flags in Parque Calderon for more specific info.
