Another street
Jan. 2021 • Couples
We really didn't feel like this street/avenue was that special. There are plenty of shopping to go around, as far as a few restaurants and some local shops.

Modern and with Casa de Cambio
Jan. 2020
This avenue runs through the new part of Quito for almost 10km. Along it are some of the international hotels like Hilton Colon and Marriot, banks and shopping options, the Spanish consulate and further north the Botanical gardens. In contrast to the old town, the ambiance is modern.

For me the main reason going to Amazonas are the casa de cambio (money changers), that generally offer better rates than the banks and are easier to access.

Simply Average
Jul. 2018 • Solo
Simply average. Nothing wrong here, nothing super wonderful either. I did not find anything life changing or revolutionary here, but just another big city street with some points of interest near-by.

The antithesis of Casio Historico - Modern Quito
Dec. 2017 • Couples
In the Mariscal district this is Modern Quito. Also boasts a beautiful Gothic Church, restaurants, office buildings, hotels and more. A lot of upscale stores to boot. Worth looking around especially if staying at the Hilton Colon. The antithesis of the historic, cobblestone streets.

An unremarkable modern avenue
Jun. 2017 • Business
This is your typical modern avenue you can find in many South American countries full of business buikdings, hotels, restaurants and upmarket shops. Certainly not ugly, but I would exchange any of the nice streets in the old town for this one

A good picture of modern Quito
May 2017 • Business
I don't understand all of the unkind remarks about the Avenida Amazonas. Not every street in town can be quaint and beautiful. This one gives you a good idea of the Quito of today, which is bustling with activity and carrying the good people of Quito to work and whatever else it is they are out to accomplish that day. I liked riding along this street simply to see what was going on in town.

Another average street
Jun. 2016 • Business
Most Quito people are totally proud of their commercial street and the buildings. The street got some interesting buildings (my office among them) but even though improved over the last couple of years still has no soul. You can find good restaurant and shops somewhere else

A Place for Walking
May 2016 • Couples
An attractive part of Quito with hotels, good restaurants and shops. Ejido Park across the street is a pleasant place to walk, especially on weekends, and gives a flavor if life here. I found that in places. The sidewalks are uneven and not always in good repair.

Walking Tour Great in Quito
May 2016 • Friends
The first day we were in Quito, we spent the entire day walking around all the areas, especially the Avenida Amazonas. Waling around gives you a good flavor of the people and the area. There are plenty of places to stop and get a bite to eat, sit and enjoy the people or shop

Just a street
May 2016 • Solo
Not really much to see here other than hotels and some shopping. It's a main artery in the city of Quito, but other than that, not much to speak of.
