Absolutely LOVE Parque La Carolina. One of my favorite hang out spots- sit by the "lake" or rent a paddle boat, buy food from the many vendors, run or do CrossFit at the beautiful track, play soccer with friends of locals on the beautiful fields, check out the basketball courts, play some volleyball, hit around a tennis ball, play on... Is a very large park on the northern side of Quito. Behind it you'll find a big mountain. Is a great place to hangout, doing sports, picnic.

This park has everything and I highly recommend it as an opportunity to people watch. We went on a Sunday (election Sunday of all days) and the park was packed with people. This park has some of everything. There are ball fields as far as the eye can see. There's little rivers to paddle boat in. There's a botanical garden.... More

We felt safe walking in the daytime in this park and had a lovely visit to the Botanical Garden. The Botanical Garden is really big and is you're a bird watcher or plant lover, you could easily spend a couple of hours here. It's all fenced in as well.

Easy to get to by public transport. Great way to get some exercise- either by just walking around and admiring the artwork and whatever activities are happening, or using the great track used by walkers and joggers. The botanical gardens are fantastic.

This is an awesome place to have fun. You can just walk around with the dog, jog, play just about any sport or even rent a canoe and paddle! It's located in the best area in Quito for dining and shopping plus you get easy access to public transportation.

At the end of our Hop On Hop Off bus tour of Quito, we decided to walk from the north end of the park back to the south end where our hotel (Hostal La Rabida) was located. In this bustling city with minimal green space it was good to see how widely used this park is. There's a running track,... More

This park is one of the most important in the city, it is located in the commercial and financial center. It has exercise machines, running track, a lagoon, games for children, nursery and the best canine area. It is a very nice place, however, they lack more care and less trash. Recommended to go midweek in the early evening when... More

What a welcome relief in Quito. A huge park full of diverse activity and also just walking about and enjoying the trees and the people. A treasure for Quito and its folk and for us too!

I mainly use the park to ride a bicycle around it in the reserved lanes from 4:30 am to 6:30 am but the park has been updated with excellent, well lit walkways, basketball courts and synthetic soccer fields. Stations for the Metro (Subway) are in construction at both ends of the park. Maintenance and safety are now both very good.
