THe basilica is an amazing building from the inside AND inside. And definately worth a visit. Especially the ascend to the top of the tower is a nice climb. You will have the best view of the centro historico from anywhere.

absolutely beautiful inside and out stop by and walk around the grounds. then climb to the many levels and take pictures. come back at night when it is lit and stunning

The Basilica was only a few blocks from our hostel so we visited several times. We even lucked into a service blessing all the schoolchildren pre Carnival. It is just stunning ..for $2 fee you can roam throughout..including the large courtyard and for those unfair...More
