Nearly seemed like being in London! Very impressive but some other churches seemed to be more appropriate for this country. Truly lovely however, just seemed so Gothic!

This was my introduction to the historic center. This is not an old church but it is a beautiful gothic church. The Basilica and its surrounding plaza are beautiful. You can climb the towers and even have a coffee and snack in one of them. I tried it all and still felt I could have used more time to enjoy... More

I honestly didn't go inside because I've seen churches, cathedrals, and other religious buildings around the world. I did visit because of the uniqueness of the gargoyles and the fact you can climb the towers. The gargoyles are inspired by regional animals. To get to the top of the towers you will need to cross a wooden suspension bridge that... More

Although admission is a few dollars, it is totally worth the money spent to climb the stairs and see Old Town Quito from such terrific vantage point. I recommend doing this activity first if you have a long day of sightseeing planned. You will need your legs to be fresh because of all the stair climbing!

Beautiful old cathedral in Quito's historical district. We were allowed to explore the church on our own during visiting hours and allowed to take photos inside. The shrines for the saints along the sides included tables to leave candles, which I thought was beautiful. The church had several stunning stained glass windows, but the most beautiful part of the church... More

It is a beautiful church decorated with the best money can buy. What I liked the most about it was the architecture and the views from the mid point and towers. They have some most amazing little souvenir shops mid-level. Handmade local treasures there!!

Lovely cathedral with views over the old and new city. Fun to hike to the top and across planking to the top. ANd they had a little bistro on one of the top of the towers so we could get a beer after touring all morning. People really go to church in Ecuador. There are maybe 10 churches in the... More

So much to see in a couple of block radius-get a guide that can give history on all. Many attractions near by- use maybe 3-4 hours

This is a very beautiful church. You pay $2 US to see the church and then you must pay another $2 to climb the tower. Climbing the tower is a must. Very steep stairs so not for anyone with stair issues. You also must have good upper body strength to climb the last 30 stairs. Almost completely vertical and not... More
