An essential place to visit in Quito. Similar to old town in Cartagena Columbia, but a bit calmer. Very nice!

Lovely old town but beware of pickpockets. Lots of police presence around and is pretty safe however I would not venture around after dark easily..... I'm elderly perhaps ok for young people

We hired a taxi and driver to take us to old town and to see the "gold" church. Glad HE was driving!!! Very crowded streets, but it was worth the tour and worth the visit.

I would never go out alone at night. Just because I don't know the dangers. But I felt very safe with friendly people and a lot of police everywhere. Quito old town can entertain you got couple of days just walking the streets and enjoy...More

In our two weeks traveling in Ecuador and Colombia, we enjoyed the Old Town in Quito as much as any we saw. There is interesting architecture, pleasant churches and the main square is lovely. Make sure not to miss this.

Old town offers the most incredible architecture. It is a must visit and enjoyable day walk. The people are friendly and there are police officers around.

Quito would never have been on my radar as place to visit had we not been heading off to the Galapagos for a week. But I am certainly happy that we did make this stop. The Old town area is terrific. Chock full of colonial...More

Our bus dropped us off and we were fortunate to have a guide. The area can be crowded if a celebration or holiday is occurring. Many church's and older buildings. Very interesting tour.

Just take a walk. It is safe and fun. I enjoyed the center square and churches. There are many little shopping places with great prices.

The old quarter of Quito is lovely to walk around on a sunny day. It's lively and old colonial buildings are in abundance. Understand why Quito was made a World Heritage site by Unesco. Verdict: must be walked around in any visit to Quito.

As an older couple we would like a private room with ensuite bath but a reviewer said it smelled of raw sewage and never had hot water??? We would stay Nov. 1 to Jan. 4 (65 nights). We are in the initial stages of a 4-month tour plan where we would arrive: Oct 6-7 Travel to Guayaquil-1 night on a plane-ugh Oct 7-13 Stay in Guayaquil-7 nights Oct. 14-21 Galapagos tour-8 nights Oct. 22-28 Guayaquil-7 nights Oct. 29-31-Manchu Pinchu tour-3 nights Nov. 1-Jan. 4-Cuenca- 65 nights Jan. 5-Feb. 1- Quito-33 nights Feb. 2-Back to the US The suite would be nice but the smell and tiles would not be acceptable. Has that been fixed? What would be the cost of the period above? Can you help with connections between the cities? Please note that we would have to book and find all the above available so days may vary somewhat. Looking forward to your answer we are. Bill and Dorothy Hagan

Hello Bill and Dorothy Hagan, I think you may have posted on the wrong attraction, as the one you have asked on is for the Old Town in Quito, and not a specific hotel. I hope you find the answer you're looking for. Jake
