Definitely make this one of the three churches you see when visiting the old city of Quito. It's beautiful, free, and well worth the visit to rest your feet and enjoy the spiritual surroundings.

The Iglesia de San Francisco is one of the most impressive churches i have ever seen! You have to go there if you are in Quito. And the best is: It is for free!

A beautiful, modest church built in the Franciscan style with ornate ceilings and beautiful artwork. Visitors, onlookers and church goers mill through this beautiful building all day long. Put your donations in, this beautiful church needs a little TLC and the effort is in progress....More

The largest Cathedral of Quito is up the hill. Start there and walk back to Old Town. The interior is not as elaborate as some of the Churches in Old Town. Not as crowded either. Don’t take the Tower tour unless you are in good...More
