Close to the San Francisco church this is a very interesting museum focusing on the civilizations living in Ecuador before the arrival of the Spanish. Most of them were not Incan. Well worth a visit

A lively and informative museum in old town Quito, not far from Plaza Grande. Beautiful works of art, lots of information and a visit takes no more than a few hours. Definitely worth your time.

Lovely little museum with a beautiful collection of indigenous pieces. There is also a fantastic documentary on the workforce that restored the building and adds to the charme: Labranza Oculta, try to watch it before visiting the museum.

Modern displays capture art that is ancient, modern and timeless. One is forced to acknowledge a sophisticated past. Worth at least an hour.

This little gem has a very nicely curated and displayed variety of preColumbian art, and is well worth the $4 admission ( which includes an audio guide in either spanish or English). The displays are well thought out, and have very good info accompanying them)....More
