Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Arco Británico is a monument on Avenida Brasil in Valparaíso. It was donated to the town in 1910 by the British community there to mark the centenary of the Independence of Chile. It was designed by the Chilean architect Alfredo Azancot. Worth a photo stop when in Valparaíso.

Well, not quite as impressive as the Paris landmark, but for a town where the town is the sight, not it's landmarks, this arch on the Parque Brasil strip of greenway is a good spot for a photo op.

It's a pretty nice arch, but I really wouldn't go out of my way to see it, unless you've never seen an arch like it before. After having seen numerous arches in Europe, you kind of start to lose interest in them...

We went by the Arc a few times last week and were not that impressed with it. First, it should be called El Arco Francia since it look more like a cheaper Arc de Tiomphe. The design is still very nice, just doesn't fit in with the rest of the surroundings.

Nice arco in a flowery park, I wasn’t sure what the significance of this was, but did snap a couple pictures of it as I went by.

It was designed by a Chilean Architect but donated by the british Community there in 1910 to mark Chile's 100 anniversary of Independence. There are many rises planted along the path to it. Great architecture.

A great reminder of the colonial times, reminiscent of the former glow against the backdrop of half-decrepit buildings.

The monument is said to have been created by the British immigrants living here to noted the anniversary of Chile. What I found so impressive was the style and structure, for me, seemed more European, e.g. Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile in Paris or similar in UK. The monument is set off along Calle Brazil, and has White Rose Gardens both ends. Both sides of the pillars has a plaque nothing some British individual who played a significant role in, e.g. independence of Chile, and or other South American countries... e.g Cochrane.

If you walk from the bus station towards the main part of town, you could come past this arch celebrating the British colony. The arch and the park and the street are not maintained well.
