Loved this place! Definitely worth a visit! Not to be missed in Valparaiso. Make it possible, even if you have just a couple of days in town.

Day started with a problem - our ship could not dock due to a cargo ship being there so 2,000 people and their luggage had to be transferred on tenders! Fortunately we had VIP status and got off relatively early and found our luggage waiting for us. Took just a few moments to find Christian. Had a tour of Valparaiso... More

It's noisy, bustling and rather unattractive. You can imagine the port area in its heyday, the mid 19th century. Nowadays it's hard to tell whether this area is still deteriorating or about to be rejuvenated. I hope it is the latter but perhaps Government funding is not available. I guess this might be quite lively at night as there were... More

Because my spouse is disabled, it was not practical for us to spend much time in hilly Valparaiso, but we regretted that we spent more time in Santiago than in Chile's historic port city with its melting pot of world culture and rich history. Book a good tour company, and see some of the most interesting sights in Chile.

The driving in Valparaiso is a bit crazy, so we hired a local van to drive through the old area of the city and up and down steep winding street which had political and artistic wall painting on many bars and private homes.

So this is the town that sailors used to stop at prior to and after rounding Cape Horn. I can imagine some of stories lol. We took a half day city tour in a minibus and it was excellent. I believe the city is built on 48 hills and it felt like we went up all of them. lots of... More

We spent nearly 3 hours to walk around this wonderful historic town not far away from the capital. Plenty of spots for photos.

The historic city is fun, with beautiful murals, winding cobble streets, great restaurant and crazy finicular(Ascensors). This is a city with vibe and soul. amble through the twisting lanes and enjoy the murals and atmosphere. ,

Have spent last 3 days wandering around the Historic Quarter of Valparaiso. Lots of stairs as this area is built into the side of the small mountain. Lots of great street art, great nooks and cranes, fabulous photography opportunities and hundreds of quaint restaurants and bars. Walk to the bottom ,then take a taxito the top and walk down another... More
