This museum was a total surprise. We entered the central post office to buy stamps and found the entrance of the museum in a corner. So many artefacts from old post office are displayed as well as many stamps. Very well maintained and cool place on a hot summer day. We really enjoyed it

The museum is in the working post office located in Plaza de Armas right by the Cathedral and National Museum. The museum itself has a very large collection of stamps from pretty much every country, so a stamp collector or anyone interested in philately will have a field day here. In addition, there is also a collection of old items... More

Lovely old building which is still used as a post office. Small museum exhibiting all things postal from the past - stamps, fax machine, furniture, uniforms etc.

This building really caught my attention as I walked around Plaza de Armas. It stands tall on one corner of the plaza and has a beautiful architectural design. Well worth stopping by even if for a few pictures.

Rubbing shoulders with the Museo Nacional, the central post office was, if memory serves me right, built on the site of the former Governor's Palace. It's resolutely French neoclassic in style and dates from the late 19th Century. There's a superb philately section on your left before you reach the main hall, with a very attentive lady who will take... More

This is a working post office. There were stamp displays which if you are into collecting stamps I think would be quite appealing. The inside architecture is very nice. This building is right on the Plaza de Armas. It was quite busy inside.

The central post office is just off the Plaza de las Armas (across the street from the main plaza and next to a museum) and also can be entered off of one of the pedestrian passageways. Its architecture is beautiful, with interesting details. And the post office part is very nice, with comfortable chairs for folks to sit in if... More

Located in the Plaza de Armas, a convenient visit that won't likely take longer than 30 minutes to an hour. You can buy postage for postcards in a small room at the front, cash only (marked "sellos"). Museum entry is free and there is a rather large collection of postage stamps from all over the world, organized alphabetically by country.... More

Go inside! Amazing.... still operating as the main post office! In magnificent condition! Well worth a visit! You can combine it with a quick look at the Cathedral at the same time... Good to contrast the two.
