Very Interesting
Jan. 2020
This wedge shaped building was built in the late 1800's. We didn't have our Passports on us so we couldn't go inside the building. It was very unique style of architecture from the outside though. There are many high rises that dwarf this old but iconic building.

Interesting building

This is a most interesting building. Set amongst concrete high rises. We viewed it from the outside. It is shaped like a wedge. Ornate features as well as a very old statue outside.

Free - Walk on the floor of the stock exchange!
Feb. 2019 • Solo
This is a beautiful building and i was surprised when i asked someone at the door if i could enter that they said I could but needed to go through a side door where i had to show my passport and then was allowed to walk around on my own inside. It's a beautiful building with fantastic woodwork and amazing history. Being a big fan of financial markets it's amazing to me that you can walk on the floor here, especially when they make it so difficult in the US. If you need to exchange currency, some of the best rates i saw were just across the street. It was also neat to see what i think were the specialists offices on the exterior of the exchange. What a great free site, to see and enjoy.

Pass on this one.

Currently this is ranked #190 of 568 things to do in Santiago. This is far too generous.

The fact that you have to provide your passport to enter this place leads you to believe this place will be interesting. I assure you it is not.

The highlight was going to the bathroom.

‘Hidden’ building in financial district
Jan. 2018 • Couples
Our guide took us to see this rather understated important building on our walking tour of the city centre. Apparently the road next to it has been under repair seemingly ‘forever’, which is perhaps a pointer to its relevance in today’s Chile?

A modest building in the finance district
Jan. 2016 • Couples
A narrow building in the main street in the finance district houses Chile's stock exchange. It is easily missed if you not have a guide to point it out. A beautiful old building.

Near to places to exchange money
Feb. 2015 • Solo
The building as such is just something to look at for a few minutes before you go ahead on moneda street to exchange your currency considering the number of banks and forex exchangers gets you one of the better rates in the city.

Trading floor
May 2014 • Solo
Went here on a weekday afternoon. You can leave your ID at the security desk at the side entrance and then enter to see and photograph the trading floor. Worthwhile for those passing by on Alameda (Bernardo O'Higgins), as it's a quick visit, or for those with a bit more time in Santiago.

This is the Santiago stock Exchange. It is a nice building but not really much of an attraction.

A step to the past.
Santiago snapshot of the late 1800's. Nice and safe.
