Nice plaza fronting the presidential palace. Unfortunately we missed the changing of the guards each time we passed by, which apparently takes place at 10.00am each day.

Plaza de la Constitucion and its neighborhood should be visited when in Santiago. I went there to pay respect to Salvator Allende. According to our guide there are many Chileans who still think highly of him and are truly sorry for his tragic end.

The best representation of neoclassical architecture in Santiago. It is where Presidential Palace is located. Also the Santiago Stock Exchange, Moneda palace, and other government buildings.

Spent some time visiting the square. It’s a nice photo opportunity with three statues on three sides of the square. Busy square with tourists mingling about.

Beautiful place to know. Near Palacio the La moneda you should go there when you visit the center of Santiago

This is an interesting historical building designed and built by the Spanish housing the first government. The park in the front is filled with statutes of former hero's of this nation. You can catch the changing of the guard here around 10am

Very large square, with a good view on the Moneda Palace. There is not much more on this square, which is quite symbolic for Chile.

I came to see La Moneda after reading about the Pinochet coup. I missed the changing of the guard. The Constitution Plaza is impressive with flags and statues and guards, but, when I was there, much quieter than Plaza de Armas a few blocks away.

This is a large town square in downtown Santiago de Chile, and it was very busy in the middle of a weekday. Can’t imagine how busy it is on weekends.
