La Parva is a great resort, so basically you could be staying anywhere and it wouldn't matter as long as it was less than 15 minutes away from La Parva's base. The village is difficult to rent at, it is better to seek lodgings in the town of farellones below, and to have your own car so you can choose to ski Valle or Colorado as well. A company the specializes in tour to La Parva is casatours Good luck down there. pray for nieve.

The ski area at La Parva is about 3/4 of the size of an average major resort in Utah or Colorado, but it being connected to Valle Nevado, and offering a multi-resort pass is a great plus.
The drops are significant (the highest point a lift can take you to is close to 12,000 ft.), so the runs can take 15 to 20 minutes for the average skier. The down side is that there are only 3 multiple chair lifts, the rest are draggers, which don't allow for the legs to rest much.
The runs themselves are a blast: almost all of them at the intermediate-to-expert level, but devoid of moguls. If you happen to hit them on fresh powder, as I did on 8/11/07, the experience is very memorable.
Prices are comparable to the U.S., service is fast and friendly, and the views or a clear day are incredible. You can see a large swath of Santiago in the distance. La Parva is not as famous as Portillo, which in the end means less crowds and shorter lines.
If you want to save money, get a taxi from the airport to the "Unimarc" at Las Condes ($30) , and then hire a van to take you to up the mountain to the village (another $20). There are several companies providing this service. This will result in about half the price than if you pay a service to take you straight from the airport.

Easy for same day trip! (there are numerous ski buses from Santiago(we used ski total located in Las Condes- they will come pick you up at your hotel -leaving around 7-8am and returning around 6:30-7pm). The road getting there is really windy but certainly easier and closer than Portillo or Valle Nevado. It's not a huge place so families don't have to worry about losing each other! It's also a good mountain for kids who are not yet ready for lift chairs because there is a rope tow to pretty decent long runs.
Staff are all really friendly and everyone speaks English. There is ski rental there so if you are visiting Santiago and wanted to ski for the day, you can just go and get a day worth of skiing.
Have fun~

La Parva is an amazing place, friendly staff, great food, great skiing, and the worlds best sunsets. It has a unique feel unlike any other ski resort I have ever visited, the people are welcoming and give you the feeling that you are a friend. The terrain is amazing, if you like to ski powder at La Parva you can ski the deep stuff well after a storm as most people stick to the groomers. If you like to hike La Parva has some great hike to terrain for those looking for more of an adventure.
The food is excellent, the fondue at La Marmita is phenomenal, make sure to try the cheese tomato fondue. The french cuisine at St. Tropez is great as well, and you have to have a Pisco Sour overlooking the worlds best sunsets. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a unique trip in the North American summer.

This place was horrible...85%of the "lifts" are j bars...if you are cool riding one of those to the top of the mountain, cool. Otherwise, you will have a hell of a time connecting runs & enjoying the mountain. Slow lifts, weird runs. You can get a discount if you pay with a Citicard but overall, this place was crap. Although harder (slightly bc of need for snow chains which you can rent en route), go right to sole Nevado.

Dear Jessica, thank you for your review, we are working hard to make some changes in our lifts.
Right now we have 5 chairlift and 9 surface lifts, we aware that the surface one are a little "leg burning"
La Parva is a windy ski resort, that´s why in other to have the mountain open and follow all the security standard we have this kind of lift to connect the mountain.
We are bummed you did not have a great experience, because this is our first goal.
We hope you come back in the future and we can show you around and enjoy La Parva.
Best Regards

I had the time of my file at La Parva, this was my first time Skiing, I just loved it!, they have Ski lessons, very professional and fairly cheap, nothing expensive, I really recommend this place, the views are breathtaking, located in the Chinean Andes and really accesible from Santiago, I spent 3 days here and we where lucky enough to had really nice Snow!, the place was not packed and never had to wait for the lift, my Skii lessons where really good! I really enjoyed it, our instructor was a Spanich guy, really professional and nice, got me Skiing on the same day, on Day 3 I was trying the big track :), there are a couple of VERY GOOD restaurants, you have to go to LA MARMITA, amazing fondue and RACLETTE, but this is not your every day Raclette, try it, you'll like it.

I love La Parva--really accessible, close to Santiago with a beautiful and adventurous road to get there. Once you are up there, you basically have the place to yourself. The grooming is great and the off-piste and lift-accessed backcountry is some of the best if you are willing to hike a bit and poke around. I've never waited in a liftline here, and you can get fresh tracks many days after a storm. The sunsets and views over the Andes and Santiago are incredible. There are a few restaurants up here and I love them all--St. Tropez has really good meat, seafood, and salad, and they make an excellent, traditional pisco sour. Next door is La Marmita which has amazing tomato-cheese fondue and manjar (dulce de leche, or caramel) dessert fondue. All in all, if you like spots off the beaten path and empty slopes, this feels like a true gem perched up on the slopes of the Andes with a true Chilean ski village feel.

I was at La Parva 2 days after it had snowed & could still find a few uncut lines. There were some long runs & good terrain, but it took a few lifts to get to them & repeat them. As a skier, I didn't mind the surface lifts but snowboarders might not enjoy 2/3 uphill capacity being serviced by "platters". I heard it was a popular Santiago ski area so weekends may be busier, but I found that on a Friday I could just ski up to the lifts. The black expert runs were fun but not as tough as US Rocky Mountain ones. The Fabres chair & terrain were closed, maybe open on weekends. Views are magnificent! Like most European & S. Am resorts, people were hanging out at the restaurants rather than on the slopes. Food was ski area pricey but good. I was confused at first between the 2 sides, Alpha & Chica. Maps & signage were in Spanish only. It's all above timberline, so I suggest sitting out snow days as you'll be skiing in whiteout conditions. My day was a beautiful, warm (it cools toward 3:30), blue sky experience.

The ‘ beginners’ area only use that steel bar pulling system to get to the top which I find very hard to use. Although there is a subarea for very beginners ‘osito’ with same system but much slower and therefore easy to practice it, that area is just for kids with a very short extension (pretty boring). This bar system is the only way to go back up the hill otherwise you have to leave the centre (walk like 10minutes), go to the street and get a lift with the blue transfers. I feel Colorado is much more appropriate for beginners.

Hi, I need more details about the free shuttle, mainly the timetable and the route. It goes to others ski centers, like Farellones and Valle Nevado?

Necesito recomendaciones.

¿alguien me cuenta?
Written 5 July 2017
Si vas a estar un dia entero te conviene comprar la entrada completa. Te vas a terminar aburriendo en esas 3 pistas. Saludos.

Saludos!
