The cathedral is a wonderful respite from the frantic stress of the downtown area. The pious, tourists, and pious tourists steam in and out. I would suggest taking a casual stroll through the entire space and strongly suggest you just sit down in a pew...More

the place is huge! way bigger then i was expecting for a cathedral. i wouldnt be going well out of my way to see it but if your in the city you should defo hit it up

Nice church on the main square of Santiago. It is beautiful but not necessarily more different than any other Catholic Church.

Very nice buildings and good place to take photo. It was really overcrowded when we visited in June. Overall, this is one of the must see place in Santiago.

The juxtaposition of the Metropolitan cathedral against newer buildings in plaza de armas is just wonderful! A well constructed cathedral and very charming inside! Worth a visit if you're ever in Santiago

I was fortunate to visit the cathedral at a time when it was open and mass was in progress, enabling me to see the beautiful interior. The doors are not always open so if you are really keen to see this building it would pay...More
