We stayed in a hotel on this street in downtown. Part of it is pedestrian, but our block had light traffic. It leads up to the big beautiful park. Lots of shopping, some seedy blocks.

Huerfanos is a well paved, tree covered walking street. It is also popular with families on weekends to escape the traffic

This area is a nice place to engage in some people-watching as well as visit some shops and coffee shops. Otherwise, nothing too exciting

Paseo Huerfanos has many coffee shops and a lot of nice shops to buy things. This is in the city centre and is an interested area to explore.

In this mixed retail/commercial district, one comes to appreciate just how industrious the Chilean people are, as they hurry on their way. Many of the business cafes and restaurants don't even have seats so they can get right back to work.

Long pedestrian walkway full of stores, street performers and restaurants. Various "cafe con piernas" can also be found here. Very crowded during weekday lunch hour, but empty during weekends. Many galerias (indoor shopping areas) are connected and it's very easy to get completely lost in...More

Just a shopping street. closed at 22.00 hrs. Not to be walked at night. As in every big city, whatch your belongings.

If you visit La Moneda it is just a short walk to Huerfanos which is a lively "paseo peatonal" with bars, cafés, restaurants and shops where the local office people gather for the lunchhour.
