I visited this place on a Sunday morning and it wasn't really crowded, quite empty. It's a good place to buy fresh sea products, lots of variety and prices. I bought a few pounds of fish and was very fresh. The place is somehow narrow...More

This place was insane. Be prepared to have so many people coming at you trying to get you to eat at their restaurants. I didn’t eat anywhere so I can’t comment on the food but it was a wonderful place to see!

I recommend this place just for a visit if you really enjoy to know different types of seafood. The prices of the restaurants there were very expensive and people say that they aren't so incredible. There are some souvenirs stores too.

Don’t waste your time visiting the Mercado Central. The fish stalls are pretty ordinary. There is nothing special about them. The ‘market component’ of the Central Market is relatively small. It is more a restaurant complex than a market. It is not a very appealing...More

It has many restaurants, serving famous marine foods, but is expensive and besides food you will not find other things like spices that are what I was looking forward.

Smelly, unattractive, nothing of interest - better ways to waste a few hours in the smog of Santiago.... So disappointing compared to similar places in the likes of Buenos Aries.

Eat like a local, and only here! The food is fresh, the hucksters a bit much, but hey, they gotta work! My swordfish was fabulous! 8 dollars

Ok - I don’t know where the sopapilla Italiano was but damn! It was delicious! I had a fabulous time getting totally lost in the markets in Santiago.

I'm a bit surprised at the reviews here but I thought the fish market was excellent. yes, the waiters can be a bit aggressive, but I didn't think they were any more aggressive than any other touts. Food is good if you know where to...More

It’s a fish market and restaurants inside. I find the waiters too aggressive to get you into their restaurant. Some restaurants are pricey, some are reasonably priced.

El Galleon was the better of the two. Food good, premises well maintained. Try the spicy garlic prawns .

I think some restaurants, located in Mercado Central, will be opened on Xmas Day, for lunch. But you'd better email or call theml
