Worth the small climb up to the church. It's interior is impressive and, more importantly, it's a calming and inspiring place too.

We visited this morning. This church reminds you of churches in Germany, but there it is in the Lake District of Chile! Very attractive interior and stands out from the neighbourhood like a beacon. Lovely.

Imposing church with an unexpected colorful interior - whoever is interested in churches will have a field day with all the different churches that can be found from Puerto Varas all the way down to Castro in Chiloe!

Worth the climb as it is up rather a steep hill. The church has very interesting decoration and is beautifully finished. the view from there over Puerto Varas is good too.

Built on wood by the settlers, the church looks like an inverted ship. Well care for. Our guide contacted the right local person and got it opened for our group. Worth the wait!

This is a short walk up hill from the center of town, and is worth a visit. The styles are Romanesque and Baroque. It was built between 1915 and 1918. The structure uses oak, and the exterior is covered by iron plates. The roof is constructed of wood singles. The design is German. Unfortunately, it is in a bit of... More

Traveling in Catholic countries can get you a little worn down on churches. But when they all start to blur together, this church stands out from the repetitive Baroque style found in the region. The blue ceiling with white trim make it feel open, as if outside on a sunny day. Stained glass is found not only on the windows,... More

Five minutes walk from the lakeside tourist office. Peaceful atmosphere with music playing in the background adding to the tranquil atmosphere of the place. Just below the church is a small park with a grotto dedicated to the Virgin Mary and this makes a good photograph looking up towards the church.

It looks so wonderful from afar and the story of how it was constructed is most interesting; however when we were right next to it we could see how much in need of repair it is. Having said that it is iconic in the best sense. It gives that Germanic sense which is such a part of the region.

This church can be seen from many different points of the city. Great for photos. There is also a Gruta de Lourdes nearby.
